  2. quote:Originally posted by EraSeek:Another thing it did was to reset my trip computer overall odometer back to zero. I had been leaving run since I first bought the unit. I should have writen down how many miles I had logged with it. Oh well. http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/4497_300.jpg Ditto here!! I did not think about this, or I would have waited, I had 17,000 miles, but the unusual thing was my top speed was 945 mph. Now what are the chances of me getting that to happen again? Norm

  9. I got the pFranc adapter. Go here: http://pfranc.com/cables/index.shtml to learn more. I also got my Pfranc to throw a couple of eplugs in for future cables I may build, all for 25 bucks. I also highly reccomend the RAM mount I have the suction cup too, and it is worth the money!
  10. I wish I still had my Kawasaki ZX 1100. It would be 160+!! For you Vista owners, I have been wondering what happens if you put your vista in a rubbermaid type container and "burp" it? what altitude is it inside the container?? Norm

  13. Hmmmm. I just bought a set of energizer 1700 ah and a set of energizer 700ah AAA , and am charging the AA now. How bout putting the charger on an ext cord and dropping the whole thing in the freezer??? Thoughts? NOrm
  14. One add-on I would like for my Legend is a remote control. I kid you not! When the saleswoman suggested one for my Sony car stereo, I laughed. When I nearly ran off the road fiddling with the buttons, I turned around and had it installed. When driving, I now never have to take my eyes off the road to adjust anything, and when you look at the GPS, you have to refocus, fumble, etc. a wreck waiting to happen... Also, I wanna see the option of carrier phase recievers on the market. They can provide accuracy that makes our current 17-25 feet look like the old Selective Availability days! Sure, it would end our sport of geocaching, and the industry of surveying would never be the same, but I like the idea of 3-4 millimeter accuracy.... Norm

  16. Try terraserver. goto the advanced find section and enter the coordinates, or I think you can click on it from the cache page. Hope that works, Norm
  17. quote:Originally posted by hwhaler:one question, though-- when i used this, my name/number/etc didn't seem to be formatted (centered) very well (unlike the picture of the etrex). do you need to leave some of the spaces at the end of your string that seem to be selected by default when you run meMap? i may just need to do it again and not try to clean up blank spaces. Ditto here. I tried several things when I ran the program. Complain? NO WAY I still really like it. Norm
  18. Have only had mine a month or so, but I'm NUTZ about it. (and its driving my wife NUTZ too!) I really like havein the moving map, and the topo maps are really neat too. The only thing I wish was different, I wish it had more memory, but I can load a metro area and several topo maps or most of a state worth of topo maps! No real complaints Norm
  19. Great! It seemed like a very high quality product, and I'm easy to please, Just gimme the VERY Best! Thanks forthe input everybody! Norm
  20. Anybody use these? I kinda put the cart before the horse and ordered mounts for my motorcycle and truck yesterday, so now I am kinda wondering about users opinions. They seem to be VERY well built and versatile. I can even use the bike mount to mount a .45!! Great for Memphis drivers! www.ram-mount.com Norm
  21. I wouldn't be upset if they told me what I was getting RIGHT UP FRONT, that the data was about 10 years out of date in areas. No, I'm willing to bet you'd still find something to ***** about. Norm
