  1. sorry for the delay, i have not yet put it on ebay, so it is still available.
  2. It's appropriate not to worry about everything that you could be exposed to or that is endemic in your area. Your health is much more likely to benefit from outdoor adventures and the risk is so slight I would not think twice about it.
  3. I'm a physician in Milwaukee and I will tell you that blasto is primarily an inhailed organism that rarely causes problems. Washing hands, although always a good idea, would not likely offer any protection. This is a freak incident and I would not change any current routines. It is very unfortunate, but likely those patients were somehow predisposed to this infection. Get out and enjoy the outdoors!
  4. I did find the same in the 'DOCS' folder, but that .rgn file is only 3kb and am sure that the entire map file is not on it. So, I'm not sure where that full map region file is located?!
  5. interesting, i just bought the mapsend directroute and am having the exact same problem. I remember someone saying that we can't directly load to the explorist as it only recognizes serial ports. So, somehow we have to load to the explorist by USB as if it were a hard drive. Somehow we have to find the map file (of our designated area) and directly load it to the 'region' folder on our GPS, as if it were simply a hard drive with folders. Problem is I don't know where to find the map regions that I created.
  6. So there are no instructions on the DirectRoute NA CD on how to send maps to the 'new' Explorist 210. I can define an area, then try to load to my GPS, but the software does not recognize USB ports so that I can transfer the data. So I tried to save to PC hard drive, but it only places a small .rgn file on the hard drive, but not the entire map region. I know there is a simple way to put selected map regions onto my Explorist but am unable to figure it out Anyone have a link that explains this or want to post how to do this? thanks so much!!
  7. excellent, I now have a converter. sputnik, do you know if the explorist 210 has the option to change the input type?
  8. I would like to place several points of interest in my GPS by typing the coordinates into a magellan GPS program and then transferring to my GPS. Is there an easy way to enter points of interest if I have coordinates from sites such as google earth? When I choose points of interest on Google Earth (ie. my address) it gives the location in Degree,Min,Sec such as 45*39'08.32" but my explorist seems to want it in xx*yy.zzz' (degrees and minutes only). How do I convert or is there another way to input? thanks for the help
  9. I agree that you will likely wait for some time before the price goes down much. You may as well pay the extra and have the software now!?? Or get the version 2 and deal with the converting.
  10. I wonder if magellan would like to see that this guy is profiting from their software! I could probably forgive him if he is giving it away, but if he is making money... that's bad.
  11. uhhhhmmmm NO. Too many scams out there. I'm not going to be the sucker!
  12. maybe try lowering the 'screen quality' setting? this may increase the refresh rate?
  13. Aberdeen is a wasteland of nothingness, you will be lucky to find running water just use the search option at geocache.com
  14. Here is a more comprehensive manual that you may not have? Click here
  15. jimbop, does this just have you plug the usb end into the lighter adapter and it supplies power to 'any' usb powered electronics (ie. my gps)?
  16. Good luck in basic training, been there myself. Remember, never volunteer for anything, it'll just get you extra work and headaches! BTW if you have a palm v or vx or similar, i am selling the magellan gps companion for $40
  17. excellent! I hope it works! thank you!
  18. I found this site for DC power. Does anyone know which will work to get power to the "y-type" usb/power cable???
  19. What is this guy selling? What 'information' does he have? Is this a con? Look HERE
  20. hey im from sioux falls too! yeaaaaaaa I've just started this geocaching and hope to have a good ole' time!
  21. could you guys add a link to an inexpensive auto power cable that would connect to the explorist 210?!! that would be awesome! thanks
  22. Could some please further explain the benefit of the USB capability of version 3? I have the explorist 210 and wonder what benefit the version 3 would give me (as I do connect to my computer with the usb cord included). Would I still be able to use the version 2? Does using the conversion manager cause a lot of hassle?
