Don't take your ball and quit again 360, because I'm going to respond to your post, and my words may not please you. I'll see what I can do to reign it in though, because I don't like listening to crying......

This is interesting. I've had exeperiences with mine in which it told me the current speed but not the elevation. I'm assuming that this has something to do with cabin pressure. was your gpsr actually reading 33,345ft? I use an etrex vista. Anyway, I started believing that it wouldn't give me the actual elevation unless I was flying in a non pressurized cabin. ????

You're right, you've only had 5 months to read this thread and come to the conclusion that it's nothing more than a joke ...my mistake.

was he really joking when he said that? Were you really joking when you said that Mr. Snatch.... uh, I mean Snazz?

With over a year to read through its posts (this thread actually started waayyyyy back in Feb 2002), you would think that folks would have had more than enough time to stop taking this discussion seriously. Period.

I second that emotion!!!! People don't read through the whole post before they reply.

Welcome to the forums "SuperMadCachers" but take the time to read the whole thread, it is very funny as it was meant to be a JOKE.

I did read the whole thread! And I did find the majority of it humorous. That particular part I did not....!

  6. I'm trying to come up with some unique and interesting ideas for hiding a cache so I thought I'd see if anyone has any good examples of some unique Cache Ideas. Anything? There's bound to be some neat ideas out there. I know that there are different kinds of caches but I think there's other possibilities out there that aren't yet discovered. Even if it's spicing up the standard cache to make it a little more interesting, challenging, exciting, whatever.

  7. the other day I ventured out into our bustelling city to find a few benchmarks. I have to say that I felt a bit strange walking through parking lots looking for these things. I never did find any as I'm convinced that the given coordinates are way off. I think I'll only shoot for benchmarks out in the middle of nowhere from now on so as to not appear as a car thief.

  8. Didn't see much in the way of New Mexico so I thought I'd share my experience of finding New Mexico's coolest Cache! OK, maybe its not the coolest one but it was pretty awesome. Last Saturday we visited the TWA Canyon Cache in the Sandia Mountains (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=8291) We will always remember visiting this cache because as we were starting our hike early in the morning we heard a loud boom that turned out to be the space shuttle. It was a sobering day to see the TWA Crash site and then hear about the Space Shuttle. The area is beautiful. Take a look at the pictures we took during our visit at http://jared.larsenfamily.com/pictures/geocaching/twacrash/ It's a tough hike but well worth it! If you are in the area I highly recomend you check this one out-- If you are up for the 8.5 mile round trip hike. Up 2500 feet then back down.

  9. We seem to have a problem in our area of Trashy Cache's. Our very first cache was very nice and actually had some nice things in it but lately it seems like we've found some trashy ones. Today, for example, we found a cache with a pickle in it! Can you believe that? I thought people would read the rules and atleast try to keep their trash out of the cache! Any ideas? I havn't set up a cache yet but if I do I'm thinking about making it available only to premium members. I don't expect to find gold mines but I don't care to find trash either. icon_mad.gif
