  1. My favorite is the micro in the woods. Like I'm going to hoof it a half mile back in the woods for a micro with a hint that says "by the tree with the knot". Yeahhh.... I like your container, BTW. That's a huge problem where I live. I don't get it. The hiking trail I am putting this off of already has many caches along it. Some are a solid 1000ft+ off the path and are match stick containers. You have all this freaking room. You could hide a car if you disguised it well enough. Yet time and time again the only things I find could be concealed in a closed fist. Not to mention that hardly anyone goes after them because of what you stated. They get a find or two every few months and that's it. I wish I could just have them archived because I would be willing to drop a dozen serious caches out there. Back on topic, lol. Other than something to store the swag in, my mail box cache is ready to go! I decided to make it a multi-cache BTW. You will not be able to find the box with coordinates.
  2. I have more fun hiding and maintaining caches than I do finding them.
  3. I made the stand and did the paint job. The container was purchased at a local hardware store.
  4. Hiding caches is the best part of this hobby for me. This was my first time using natural foliage to camouflage something. I am very pleased with how it turned out. You should give it a go.
  5. How have you been able to find some with no app or way to get coordinates?
  6. I get more furious at the fact that people have the nads to put in rocks and sticks in exchange for something people spend money on. Every now and then I drop 10-15 bucks in the dollar store, load up on swag, and basically play santa at the next 2 or 3 caches I find. Here was an $11.50 haul I did an hour ago. I plan on stocking my newest large cache with this stuff as well as a few other goodies. I expect it to be filled with garbage in no time.
  7. Ready for some adventure once I get the new attaching line onto it.
  8. I went looking for a cache yesterday with this hint "You're on your own with this one!" ... I hate that crap.
  9. I am hoping to have my new multi-cache done and posted early next week. Just came back from a swag run. I got all of this stuff for a whopping $11.50. I tried to get stuff for the little guys and gals. There is an item I bought on Amazon last night for $9.00 that will be the FTF prize.
  10. You can go into a dollar general and buy 20+ pieces of swag for like $15 or less. There have been many caches where I just drop off a dozen things. A big problem around here is the caches being so small. You literally can fit any swag with any kind of substantial size.
  11. I don't really have an issue with it. I started a Ninja Turtle series and one guy got at least 2 (maybe 3) FTFs.
  12. What is your favorite kind of swag? Personal trading cards. What is your least favorite kind of swag? Stuff that people had laying under their car seat/ Did you ever find a piece of swag that made you MAD? I found sticks of gum yesterday. Looked like they had been sitting there for over a year. Did you ever find a piece od swag that made you really happy? I found a rubics cube a while back. That was cool. What is the most unusually piece of swag you ever found? I think it was a fake tooth. I could be wrong though.
  13. Maybe when logging a cache there should be some sort of opinionated flag option along the lines of unsafe or poor placement. If enough people flag it as such, maybe the CO will take it upon themselves to move it to another location.
  14. Is there generally less garbage in aches that are premium member only?
  15. It's probably the fear of the state's liability. They don't need someone getting killed by a truck while inspecting a guardrail. Sadly, in today's world, a scumbag of a lawyer would be able to get rule in favor of the hit cacher.
  16. Don't they auto resize to fit browser? They do on both my iPad and my PC... My bad if not
  17. I'd like to see how the welding turns out. If I had a decent setup for securing TB cables, I might set up a Travel Bug Attachment Event. One other consideration, if you want photos of your Travel Bug, is designing it so that the tag naturally lies with the tracking number out of view (out of the picture). I like to take fun pictures that I hope the TB owners will enjoy, but often need to spend extra time erasing the tracking number, because it keeps getting in the picture. That's a great tip. Thanks!
  18. Are all the parts permenently attached? If not, you should attach everything with Goop, or Liquid Nails, or urethane epoxy, or even JB Weld pressed into it like clay. Even if the wheels won't turn when you're done. I'm thinking it should be very solid, since it may be jostled around in caches and backpacks. If it seems fine the way it is, that's OK, too. It's just a suggestion. I'd also drill a hole through the top to the bottom, and run as heavy a steel cable as will fit a TB dogtag, and swage it. Or use a nut and bolt, to secure the TB tag. But not the cheap ball chain that comes with the tags, because that will break. My most recent TBs have dogtags attached using a very thick steel wire bent into a "U" shape and glued into the object. The idea is that it's tough to remove without damaging the item. Anyway, it does look very cool, and I hope it travels far! Thanks! You can't see it, but I did drill out a hole in the back of the frame for an attachment line. Everything is really solid on it (Gorilla glue ). I have a buddy of mine that is a welder. I was going to attach the tag using a steel cable and have him mig-weld the ends together.
  19. I really want to send this to someone in California and try to have it end up back in Connecticut. I'm having a hard time letting it go. I just know that someone is going to swipe it because it's pretty cool (IMO). I would like everyone who finds it to take of picture of it on some kind of cool terrain.
  20. I just made a trackable today that I wanted to try and have start on the west coast and end up back in my home town... I may be interested.
  21. All are available for purchase either as singles or in series. I get the sense that a lot of veteran catchers don't like the explosion of park and grabs. I figured, might as well try and make them a little more entertaining. http://www.facebook.com/ChinosCustomCaches
  22. I don't mind if nano is made or isn't made an option. I just wish COs would get in the habit of letting you know that the cache is a nano.
