  1. Howdy......

That happens to all of us sooner or latter :( It's happened to me a time or three.

I recently moved a travel bug and now it apparently has been stolen from the cache that I left it in. This bug had been in play since 2005 and had traveled some really good distance. I can't help but feel a little bit responsible for it going missing. I will no longer drop TB's in caches that show TB's in the inventory but are not physically there. I am also considering only dropping them in PMO caches.

  2. Howdy......

It is not your responsibility. You have done your part.

Someone else will have to move it......

I found a travel bug and moved it to another cache, how long should I leave it there if it isn't picked up and moved by someone else?

Do I have a responsibility to watch it and make sure it moves?

  3. Howdy......

    +1

    Vern / Foothills Drifter... B)

I am a NUB as well, 35 or so finds. Your correct it is not Rocket Science. Actually the only thing that IS Rocket Science IS Rocket Science.

I have found the people involved in caching and on this site always respectful and more then willing to help you out.

Your the only guy I have seen that called some ones reply stupid. Maybe playing Basketball a more appropriate past time for you.

  4. Howdy......

I'm glad you guys are on my side.

    Howdy......

You should find about 50 more before you start hiding any.

Get to know whats going on first.

    That's a stupid reply.

    Two things

That recommendation is one that is has great popularity based on experience.

That kind of language is frowned on is this forum and can result an admonishment, sujspension or bnishment. Might want to treat people with courtesty and respect here.

  5. Costco has a brand new gpsmap 62s for 199.99. I can get a refurbished Oregon 450 with warranty for 179.99. Will be using the unit for geocaching and hunting. Where should I be spending my money? Thanks in advance!

I own both and like the 62S better.

  6. Howdy......

I know about 5200. I worked at a big boat repair place for a short time (Nielson Beaumont Marine,Shelter Island,San Diego)

We used a lot of 5200...IT IS STRONG!!! But,I ain't got none.

I fixed and re-hid it today (I also used camo duct tape)

    THANKX!

I use 3M 5200 Marine adhesive for most geocaches that need glue. But when gluing a magnet to a small container like a bison, I also wrap it in duct tape.

  7. Howdy......

I always rough up both sides.

    THANKX!

    Howdy......

I have a couple of micro bison tube hides that are magnetic.

I have had the magnets come unglued twice.

I have been using GORILLA GLUE. Should I be using a 2 part epoxy?

    Something else...?

Inquiring minds want to know......

    THANKX!

I usually use a two part product like JB Weld.

JB Weld has worked well for me.

But .... I have also found that it is most important to rough up the surface with sandpaper first.

This also applies to painting Loc'n'Loc containers.

    Howdy......

THANKX to all 4 of ya!!

I do have s few different adhesives in my tool box.

Before I retired I was in heavy truck and trailer parts and repair (39.5 yrs)

    I will experiment a little.

I do have camo duct tape also...

    THANKX!

    Vern / Foothills Drifter...

You probably have, or have used this...

If I recall, the black variety stays more pliable after curing, while the yellow solidifies fairly quickly.
