Yeah, us Southern Californians are really spoiled when it comes to the weather.
Is that what is stopping you from finding this new cache that is nearby?

The guy I buy my coffee from in the morning wants me to hide a cache in his parking lot (in a tree or elsewhere...) and put in certifacates for his 'goods'. I told him I could 'do the hide' but the certificates would be 'commerical' and would not get approved. I want to put in the 'usual swag' but in addition I would add (on the top) a First T Find Award of $5.00 off in the store (paid by me)
What do you think ? He would still get some G'cachers business, but would this still be too commerical?
He also sells ice cream, pasterys and a few 'other' things........
Your thoughts please.

Obsession also works here. As everybody has already said or at least thought a hobby does not always require a time clock, a score, other players, a referee, uniforms, special equipment, training, etc. Oh wait, what side of the argument was I on? OK, a sport requires some competition, colorful fans, corporate sponsorship, steriods, explotation of child labor to produce high priced shoes.... darn, I can't seem to get it all together.
OK, I can at least say Geocaching is more fun than watching Olympic curling replays on TEVO.
unless it's womens curling, i could watch that all day long!!!
it is an addiction.

Thankx for all your replys (sofar...)
I really enjoy this 'outdoor activity', it's a nice 'hobby' and if I don't get too 'obsessed' with it my wife will be a good 'sport' about it. It's a 'past time' that can be relaxing (if ya find what you're lookin for...)
Oh well.....you get the point

I posted a reply to a post and refered to G.C'ing as a hobby. Am I correct? Or does it all depend how serious and 'into it' you are.
It could be a sport or a hobby......

It appears that so many want to go to war over the most innocent topics, it seems they do not read fully the topics, or choose to pick out parts, out of context, which they feel they can challenge.
Frequently the sense of the original topic is completely lost as the usual suspects respond only to the flaky responses, and so on ad infinitum.
I guess someone also said "Get a Life"..anyone know who ?
Howdy......
This happens in a LOT of forums covering 'other' hobbies also......
