"They really may be a Historical Site" The shock and horror of it all.
And do we suppose that there will be a lesson learned by the mindless ranters?
I sure as heck tell you this, after having read this garbage, if I was the decider, the time period for historic preservation would not be 50 years, it would be 50 minutes.
Good. Then they wouldn't be taking our historic caches.
The geocache the previous post refers to, "It's in the can..." was placed within a railroad-related historic can scatter. A historic site, dating back 50+ years.
Hmmm.... and what is the reason the cans were not cleaned up 30-40 years ago (or even 25)???

Added hint to Teco #14 - 10 Miles
-
Added hint to Teco #13 - Stuck!
-
Nobody objected to a hint this time, so...
...added a hint to Teco #12 Acronyms - more to follow!!!
-
Hmmm... Interesting... All these "well-meaning" cachers that tell me how/when to post hints when I already said how/when I'll do it...
-
OK - I received requests to post hints for the following caches:
Unsolved:
Teco #12 - Acronyms
Teco #13 - Stuck
Teco #14 - 10 Miles
Teco #16 - Numbers
Teco #18 - Memories
Teco #19 - Riddles
Solved:
None
-------------------------------------
This is how it's going to work:
Cachers in the top 3 scores get to vote if they want a hint or not at this time (Have they truly exhausted their brains?!?).
I need an unanimous vote (e-mail me directly) from LLOT, TT, FM and devhead before I post any hints for unsolved caches.
Voting ends at 9 pm tomorrow Tuesday.
Geez - Why so many hoops??? Why not just post some hints?
Well, I wanted to try something new by letting the puzzle solvers decide. Some like hints, some don't... we'll see how it works out.
Oh, for heaven's sake. Just post some hints... Or don't. Whatever. We all have plenty to do and I think we have all moved on from these puzzles and are unlikely to come back without some hints. So if you want people to solve them, post hints. If you don't want people to solve them, don't post hints...
Whoa!!! Hold it for a second now...
This "hint or no hint" goes back to posting #32 and on. Not to mention the e-mails I received immediately afterwards and the conversations I had with some of you... Put it this way, more than one person objected to hints!
Well, I've decided not to have a vote, rather if one of you "top guys" object to hints, let me know. After reading FlagMan's response above I'm confident that he is not objecting.

OK - I've received 2 requests for adding hints so here we go:
Please follow these instructions to avoid a "flame-war" in the forums.
If you need a hint for a puzzle e-mail me directly and tell me which puzzle and where you're stuck. C'mon now - don't ask me to add hints to all of them. I need your request no later than 9 pm PST tomorrow Monday 1/28.

I too received an invitaiton for the "Puzzle Breakfast" but since it seems like I'm on the menu I'm going to decline.
Seriously though, I'm going to race go-carts at 11 am so I have to pass on it.
However, I decided to "let you in" on something that might help you with your digestion.
Read the following caches c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y and you will find some clues:
Teco #7 - Ranking
Teco #12 - Acronyms
Teco #13 - Stuck (sort of)
Teco #14 - 10 Miles (sort of)
Teco #18 - Memories
Teco #19 - Riddles - if you got to the last riddle. You'll also find it's related to one of the puzzles listed above.
-
Exactly the expected response.

Wy don't we just kidnap PB and start the waterboarding. Dang it, that probably doesn't work on Polar Bears, either!!
Maybe we should have an event and call it "Stop the Tecolote Madness" and we could get all the brains in one room with a bunch of laptops and knock these puzzles out all at once. We could pitch in and fly TT here from AZ and conference call the Cowspot guy in ( TT's bro right?).
Takes one to know one...Interesting thought process you have Mr. PB.TA
Any takers?
I'm thinking forced feeding of lutefisk and ABBA played at high volume levels...and if that doesn't work, repeated viewing of the 1995 World Hockey Championships (where Finland beat Sweden 4-1).
Now that's mean!
Would I be that mean to you?!?! Like, creating a puzzle with no solution... Wait a sec, I guess I already did

They want us to do that, so we justify what they are doing. It's like a fight in football, the guy that throws the last punch gets the flag. Anyhow, think how satisfying it will be if we play our cards right and are able overturn their stupidity.
I honestly think we should organize a CITO for the park and take as many truck loads of trash as we can and dump them on their door steps and let them know what litter really is......
The inmates are running the asylum... At least now we know where to "recycle" our cans...My $0.02
Just some food for thought: After our (Eric and Hill and myself) recent trip to ABDSP this past weekend "saving" a few caches from destruction we stopped by It's In The Can Man which has been removed per ABDSP policy.
Now, the cache was hidden inside a rusted old can in a pile of dozens of other rusty old cans. The cache is gone but the rusty old cans are still there. Somebody please fill me in on how a cache can be litter and rusty old cans are not. Maybe there is some kind of historical significance with the cans...
I thinks they eventually want the cans to be categorized as an example of primitive culture, and the cache throws the whole premise out of whack.
Those rangers are so funny!
Oops. I guess I shouldn't do that. It's not nice to laugh at stupid people.
This area must be what they call a sensitive area Do not disturb the cans please
Indian artifacts??? or remnants from a camp by Juan Batista de Anza????

I just wanted to voice to PB -->>> These puzzles and this whole chaos is amazing!!!!
It posted the day I went on vacation for 9 days. I had only time to look into a couple of them. Since I have been back, I spent some time looking a bit more. WOW!! Yet to solve even the basics, but still trying! Quite a race going on, with those who can actually solve some!
Thanks for the incredible efforts it must have been and Happy Caching!
Marshall (aka RSCAENSD)
Well, thank you!!!
At least there is one cacher out there that does not associate my name with pitchforks and torches!

Just wanted to follow up after LLOT's unfortunate encounter with the PO... Despite having lathered up with Technu several times throughout the day, I ended up with a nasty case of the stuff on my right bicep (above the shirt line -- I guess my lather didn't go high enough on the arm...). Mrs. FlagMan took me to the doctor and begged him to take away the itching but leave the swelling Just kidding -- hopefully a little TLC and a couple days will be all I need...
PO is a very unfortunate hazard when caching - and it's growing in abundance in Tecolote Canyon. Avoid bushwacking as much as possible when traversing the canyon.
I've used this PO treatment successfully in the past and I always have at least one wipe with me when I'm out and about. This treatment is so effective (for me) that it stopped the itching and swelling even 2 days after exposure i.e. it started to itch like crazy and I applied a wipe for an almost instant relief. You can buy it at Vons for sure and probably at many other stores too for about $10 - don't forget to print the on-line coupon.

Virtual Finds
This is for cachers that cannot get to the physical cache (out-of-town etc.) but like to solve puzzles. Just send me an e-mail with the correctly solved coordinates and you get a virtual find. Consider it an "honorary" find and you can get FTS.

And you know this because?!?!?
FYI - there is a desert road (for campgrounds) less than 100 ft from the cache and a bunch of railroad cars are parked on the tracks next to the road. The area is well traversed and has been so for years.
