  2. Anders has the grooviest costumes. He looks good in them too. Most cache photos show fat guys wearing tee shirts that don't cover their gut, ill fitting jeans and baseball caps.
  3. quote:Originally posted by umc:You mean you don't have one of those yet? I do and love it although replacing the batteries is something of a pain. You have to remember that the one in the left nostril goes positive pole down but the right nostril is positive up.
  4. umc said it didn't work, so never mind. [This message was edited by GeoPrincess on September 25, 2002 at 06:01 AM.]
  5. quote:Originally posted by Rubbertoe:GeoCaching can, and does, cause damage in many cases... I'm glad to hide caches for people to find and enjoy. If they appear to be causing damage to the environment in the area, I will remove them... So, no, I don't consider myself part of the problem. Stop talking out of both sides of your mouth. You are part of the problem.
  6. quote:Originally posted by Rubbertoe: I haven't yet read the logs for the cache in question, but I think it is a fair assumption that placing a cache in any environment is going to change it. And from what I've seen, there are many times when it is changed for the worse... If you totally abstain from finding or placing caches you will no longer be part of the problem.
  7. quote:Originally posted by Kodak's4: I can see that the cache hiders in Maine are not nearly as creative as the cache hiders in the Seattle area. There are a lot of caches placed in the Seattle area, and it looks like everyone except Moun10Bike has very modest numbers of finds. Those caches must be hidden so "creatively" that no one else can find them.
  8. quote:Originally posted by Foghorn Leghorn: There are a few cachers in our area who feel the need to express their superiority by detailing how easy it was for them to locate a cache. Please provide examples. quote:Originally posted by Foghorn Leghorn: A few days ago the group of cachers who have been participating in this "I'm better than you are" activity crossed the line as far as I am concerned by changing the coordinates in a multicache without consulting the hider. Please provide a link to the cache. Could it be this one? [This message was edited by GeoPrincess on September 18, 2002 at 08:06 AM.]
  9. The people who include spoiler information in their logs do it intentionally. I say delete the log without notice.
  10. quote:Originally posted by Rubbertoe:I was just looking at the "Geocachers Gone Bad" thread and it made me think of those late night "Girls Gone Wild" commercials. Which then started me thinking... I've got a couple of exhibitionistic friends - and I bet they'd be more than happy to go on a few cache hunts with me. When do you go on cache hunts?

  12. Don't waste your breathe whining about it. Carry a supply of the containers you like with you and then you can improve all the caches that don't meet your standards.

What part of Jeremy's hint that your idea sucks didn't you understand, and how long will it take you to figure that out? It's been over a month already. Thanks for the welcome.

  15. quote:Originally posted by cachew nut: Don't you hate it when people respond to your posts, without reading it in it's entirety? You're funny. I wonder how often we forum posters make Jeremy think "Don't you hate it when people don't recognize a none too subtle hint?" quote:Originally posted by cachew nut: You would think that at the very least he would consider this option, or at least send a note that he received the email and chooses to do nothing.
  16. quote:Originally posted by Jeremy (Admin): It may filter out some of the riff raff, but it won't work too well, since any shmoe can create a throwaway hotmail account and see the coordinates anyway. Although I get a lot of flak from member only caches, it seemed like the ultimate (best solution) for just these issues. Jeremy Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location Posted 28 May 2002.
  17. My boyfriend gave me a Garmin Etrex Vista for my birthday. I'm so excited to have my own. The manual was easy to understand. Now all I have to do is find out which store nearby sells rechargeable batteries and chargers.
