  1. I have two caches near Hattiesburg that I am putting up for adoption - Johnson State Park and Longleaf Trace. I am no longer in the area and I am unable to return to maintain them. They have both been fairly active (Longleaf Trace has 41 logs since May of 2001 - Johnson SP has 46). Recent posts indicate that they need maintenance. If you live in the area and would be interested in taking over either or both of these caches, please let me know. xsintrik "No Comment"
  2. I just don't live in the area anymore and I don't foresee being able to return to maintain the cache(s). I have two caches near Hattiesburg MS. and they have been quite active. However, recent posts indicate that they need maintenance so I figured I would put them up for adoption - for the good of the sport and local caching community. xsintrik "No Comment"
  3. Are there any proceedures in place for putting a cache up for adoption? I was going to edit my cache page to annouce that it is open for adoption, but I thought that I would ask here first just in case there are some established methods for this. Thanx... xsintrik "No Comment"
  4. A miniature gyroscope or similar situational awareness sensors that can plot your position when you do not have satelite lock. This way when you are under dense tree canopy or inside of a building, the GPS can still provide you with a position. "No Comment"

  6. Dorothy has been my prime suspect from episode one. One big clue to me was the way Anderson woke up the players for the all night tether-ball game. He used a key, unlocked and opened each players door and woke them up while they were in bed. But he apparently knocked on Dorothy's door and she answered. (The only draw back here is that on the Mole2 web-site, Anderson claims not to know who the mole is). Bill? No. The mole is working against the other players winning money. The mole would not have added $100,000 to the pot by passing on reading the mole's dossier. For what it's worth, at the Mole2 web-site, most people think that Bill is the mole. I think they were using Garmin e-Trex Summits. BTW check out Dorothy's web-site at http://dimestorescenario.com/home.htm and pass your mouse over the exclamation point. "No Comment"

  8. Dowsing does not involve a supernatural influence, simply an influence not documented by science. I have used dowsing to locate underground telephone, electric and water lines. I had a great uncle that used it to find the best location to dig wells on his and my grandfather's property. These wells where hand dug in the '20s and are still in use today (they only dried up once during a drought in the '50s). I have also heard of a more advanced method that uses film canisters with the wire poked through the lid. You place a sample of whatever material that you are looking for inside the film canister, and the wires will point you toward nearby objects of the same material. I have not had any luck making/using these, but there was a company a few years back selling these to schools and law enforcement agencies until the FBI shut them down. Two seperate contacts that I have with-in law enforcement said they witnessed demonstrations that were 100% sucessful. In one demonstration, a small amount of marijuana was placed inside a high-school locker and inside the canister. The person using the device did not know which locker contained the pot, but successfully located it using the device. In a separate demonstration witnessed by a different friend, 12 people where lined up. A hair was plucked from one of them and placed inside the canister. The person giving the demonstration successfully located the person the hair belonged to. In both cases, the person demonstrating the device was placed in a seperate room while the test material was being placed (or removed in the case of the hair). "No Comment"

  11. I'm compiling a list of amusement parks throughout the US (although it has spilled over into Europe and South America) that I plan on sharing with all who ask once it is more complete. I need waypoints for Park Entrance and for major rides (roller coasters etc.). I have been getting park address' off the net, then getting the waypoints for the address' from map programs, so my current level of accuracy is minimal. Please post or send me Park Waypoints! Thanks! xsintrik "No Comment"

  13. The copy & functions don't seem to work for me either. I e-mailed Garmin about it, but response yet. xsintrik "No Comment"
  14. I have created a list of waypoints for the 2002 Houston International Festival, e-mail me if you want a copy. The festival runs from April 20-28 in downtown Houston. The list includes Stages, Markets, Telephones, Portable Toilets, Admissions Gates, Parking, ATMs and some of the food vendors. I created the list from an event map I found in the newspaper so the coordinates may not be exact, but they will get you close enough to find what you are looking for. I have the list in Mapsource, text and Excel formats. xsintrik daalse@earthlink.net "No Comment"
  15. From what I've seen, the basic geocaching site will remain free. However, there will be a subscription PREMIUM service for those who want it. A lot of cachers have expressed interest in a pay-to-play service to protect(?) their caches. Looks like the best of both worlds. If you don't want to pay, don't subscribe and only post your hidden caches in the free area.
