  1. Used it this weekend on a gocart track, top speed 23.5mph. Placed my coordinates on my mailbox, just to help the mailman out a bit. John

  3. I got my etrex from Amazon.com for $99, no shipping, no taxes. I am extremely satisfied with it. I had it with me on a jetski and I ended up falling in the water. Thank God it is waterproof. Plus, and this is really a tangent, it looks cool, I can't tell you how many conversations I have struck up with people who were like 'wow, what is that'. Just my two cents. John
  4. How important is setting the proper altitude when setting a waypoint? I had a heck of a time finding something today and I'm thinking it was the altitude of the cache. Thanks.
  5. I see that the accuracy of the yellow etrex has been called into question under medium canopy conditions. I'm new to this so my post is obviously from an untrained eye but I'm in my bedroom right now and I'm getting six satellites with an accuracy of 15 ft. Just figured I'd share that. John
  6. I apologize if this question has been previously asked but....I just got my etrex yellow and I'm wondering what I can do with it if I get a pc cable connection??? I went to the manufacturer's site and it really stinks as far as information gathering goes. I guess I'm just wondering what cool stuff I could do if I got the cable. Thanks. John
  7. I got my etrex yellow two days ago and just figured something out. You can easily enter a waypoint from any screen by holding in the 'enter' button on the left of the unit for about two seconds. This will bring you to a screen where you can enter the various info. for the waypoint you want to go to.
