  1. In the email announcement of the new souvenir for International EarthCache Day 20, the button entitled "Can You Dig It" appears to be broken. It returns a DNF.
  2. Did this release also take away the ability to post corrected coordinates. That feature was very helpful when plotting a trail, and now it's gone.
  3. You're right, none of these caches are mine, and you're right again, it's probably none of my business. However, what brought this to my attention was the cacher logging a cache in the future. When I looked into his account, I noted several anomalies to his account, specifically his account creation date. Frankly I would not log a cache that I found when I didn't have an active account. At the very least, I'd log them on the date that I found them.
  4. Here's a Premium Member I plan to report for obvious fraud. "Geocacher" ML1955 acquired his account on 11/11/2019, and since he/she joined they have logged 162 finds. That's not too far out of the ordinary you say? Well on 1/2/2020, the individual logged 16 found caches in Nova Scotia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas, and Georgia, and then hops to Israel on the 3rd followed by Greece. Many of these logs report that he found the caches in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018 years before the individual established an account with geocaching.com. The individual has already logged the Brazilian Project APE Cache and with a find date of 02/01/2020.
  5. I personally take great care to remove the tracking number from the pictures I post on the coins in my collection. Someone with whom I have shared my coin with, at a function or other venue, has taken it upon themselves to share the tracking number of my coins. I take great offense in someone with whom I have not shared this information "discovering" something that they have not seen or handled. Can Groundspeak do anything to shutdown this FB page?
  6. I have to ask, what "rules" is cGeo breaking?
  7. Thanks dprovan for the advice. I'm not too concerned about the actual turn out, I'm just interested in getting to know our local geocachers, and I wanted to ensure that I could get to know them. I appreciate the time you took to respond.
  8. Thanks, Touchstone. I appreciate your comments. :anitongue:
  9. I'm relatively new to caching, but I find that at my age, it's one of the neat things I can still do and keep active. Unfortunately, I don't know any of the local cachers, and I suspect that they've already found all of the surrounding caches (I do plan to begin hiding a few of my own though). I've recently returned to Maryland from Florida, so I decided to host a Fall Event next month (GC6R9DF) in hopes of meeting these locals and hopefully develop some friendships. What's the best way to get the word out to cachers in the local area? I'm having the event at a local Denny's Restaurant just off I-95 starting at 11:00 am in hopes of even catching some hungry traveling cachers moving up or down the Interstate. I was excited to see 4 folks sign up immediately after the Event was published, but no one has expressed any interest since then. Any words of wisdom as to ideas on spreading the word better? I do plan to have some trackables to trade or simply pass on, and I thought of giving out a prize or two to maybe the first to arrive or the cacher who shows up who has the fewest finds. Any other ideas?
  10. Hope to attend. No guarantees. I'll just be getting back from overseas.
  11. Thanks for pointing that out. I've been using cGeo for years as a free app as well as Geocaching Classic which was the "Pay For" app from Groundspeak which was next to worthless from my point of view, particularly when compared to cGeo. I will have to test out the features in the new Geocaching app. Any hints that you may want to pass along would be welcomed.
