  1. Ha now you described it I understantd. My problem was a translation word, should have asked what is this in french. Alors il s'agit des marées? Quand elle est haute et basse?
  2. I read we can upload GIF, JPG and TIFF (huh?) and all those will be resaved to JPG for forum usage. I was hoping to use my usual GIF with transparency. It seems they refuse GIF because they don't want animated GIF. Why? Anyway, if I may suggest a solution so we will all be able to use transparency and no animation is to accept PNG and let them PNG. It would be nice if you can support this idea for adoption so leave a comment. Thank you.
  3. err.. I cannot edit the title, nor delete the thread. Oh well, Prediction was the word. Was taking a look at the Legend C and Cx comparison table (http://www.garmin.com/products/comparison.jsp) and noticed that the Cx have a YES at Tide prediction while the C does not. I don't know what is it. COuld it also be an error in the table?
  4. If you look at the Garimn Legend, the new Cx are out (versus C). Again a few more $ but the Cx has a removable SD memory card so later you will be able to insert more maps if needed and it also come with a 32MB SD card instead of a fixed 24MB. Go at http://www.garmin.com/outdoor/compare.jsp and check both, you'll get a comparison table. Just ignore the MSRP.
  5. hehe.. but the justify is also that we have 6 months old twins...
  6. Ha! Ok then.. board and website have different timezone settings. Unlike the Avatar where you're redirected to geocaching.com to make selection. Fixed now, thanks.
  7. Hello everyone, I've done some basic search (CTRL-F) since the search feature is broken and even if it should be working again later today, I decided to go for my own thread. People have always the choice to read a topic or not and it seems you decided to read this one! Ok, I'm new to GC. New to the GPS world with the exception of using the basic yellow eTrex once after Christmas, it was someone else gift but I played with it a little. Now, it's true that if I buy a GPS in the next weeks it's because I went back here and registered this time after a short visit over a year ago. After many reads, I think I narrowed down my choice between the eTrex Legend Cx and the GPSMAP 60Cx. I looked at the comparison table on Garmin site but still need some answers. Other than GC, I need to justify to my girlfriend my impulsive need to get a GPS. I'm not in a rush but after a lot of read and looking at many cache very close where I live and being a boy (boys always like gadgets), you understand why I'd like to proceed soon. Being budget limited (can't afford the full equip total package), I want to be able to use it for future car trips also. I understand that neither unit talk so I will need a co-pilot to tell me directions sometimes, maybe not. But will both units will guide me easily in any cities or one have an advantage I don't know? The 60Cx got the new SiRF receiver. Always fun to have the latest technologies but does it justify the higher price alone? Ok, the 60Cx also come with 64MB instead of 32MB so that's also counts but do I really need the 32MB to start? Always time to get a new SD card if needed later. Batteries will last almost twice longer in the Legend Cx! About batteries, is it recommended to use rechargable like in digital cameras? That's about it for the comparison, anything to add to lighten me? Both units seems identical except the SiRF and 32MB more for the 60Cx. On another note, I see MapSource things are very expensive. Is the unit useless if I don't get any? City Navigator and Select differencies? I may look for other solutions. Thanks
  8. Hey thank you. Geesh, my bad , I don't know why I hav not looked in the Geocaching Announcements forums 1st . BTW, there is the latest news about it. En résumé: should be working anytime today Feb the 2nd! Let's see about the time display and timezone issue now.
  9. Hmmm.. I see the time from my previous post (09:58 PM) is showing wrong even if I had properly set the timezone in "My Account Details". Not that it is very important but in case administrators didn't know then there is a chance to see what's wrong.
  10. Hello, After a visit over a year ago, I just registered preparing for some GC activities soon. I wanted to look for discussions on GPS unit and instead of asking a question that maybe was already asked with many replies already but it seems the Search feature is broken. Fow how long it is broken and when I can expect it to be repaired? In many places we get some rude reply when we ask something that was already discussed and we are told to use the Search function. Not that I haven't tried! Thanks
