  1. I just keep a hard hat In the car. No one asks me what I'm doing.
  2. The word was derrogatory towards people in same sex relationships. Not the full word, but if you squinted a little, you would see it. about the same as replacing I's with 1's and O's with 0's. E with 3 and so on. Im not sure if it would hit the swear filter or not. Groundspeak was very prompt with a reply, and they have already taken care of everything. as usual i am pleased with the way they do business, makes me proud to call Geocaching.com home.
  3. Or you could just take your metal detector with you while looking for a geocache. if it happens to be in a metal container, you might find it faster. when someone asks you what you are doing, you just given them a blank stare and look back and fourth between them and your metal detector, given an awkward silence and tell them you are metal detecting, you just thought it was pretty obvious what you were doing. the metal detector should give you a great excuse to be where you are.
  4. I recently purchased a replacement TB sticker for the back of my car, due to the fact that i bought a new car. The one Groundspeak sent me appears to have an offensive word in it, it is short one letter from being that actual word. sort of like vanity license plates, where one tries to get a point across with limited letters and such. Has this ever happened to any other cachers out there? I have already emailed Groundspeak about it, just waiting for a reply.
  5. I just messed with the collectable option on my car TB, it doesnt matter wether it is collectable, or not. it still allows another user to grab it from me.
  6. Ive got one in the field too, works great. just camo tape from walmart.
  7. I was just thinking how great it would be to meet up with other singles in the area that were into geocaching. Geocaching is a HUGE interest of mine, and ive definatly met people (non geocachers) that just look at me crazy when i list that as one of my interests (even after i explain the whole billion dollar/tupperware thing). maybe some sort of event? i just thought i would throw the idea out there. maybe its stupid, i have no idea.
  8. as far as i'm concerned, keep the darned jeeps, just log the SOB's on the web site so someone doesnt go trapsing 2 miles out to then find out that some careless troll has not logged it. makes me mad.
  9. As I was surfing Geocaching.com, I noticed that there are a couple of groups of people in the area that know each other. I was interested as to find out if anyone was open to the idea of a “ride-along” I’m new at this and I think I could learn from someone that’s done it before. I’m really interested in taking this on as a hobby. I’m actually a paramedic that lives in the Lewisville area near 35 and 121. I’m not sure if ya’ll do that, but I’d be up for following someone on a cache, and kind of learn the ropes from a seasoned cacher.
