  1. I will usually only log a DNF if I gave it my best, couldn't find the cache and finally gave up. Just the other day I was caching, looking for one that is logged as being a fairly hard to find, but had to give up early due to too much scrutiny from the neighbors. I didn't log a DNF for that one, as I felt I wasn't finished looking. I will go back and check some more places when I can. Sharpshooter.
  2. I could use a little advice here. In our city, a user has placed 36 or so micro caches, about a third of which seem to be missing, a couple of which I have looked for more than once, posted DNF's on, along with other people. These caches have not been found in months, so I recommended that two of them be archived, the owner then posted a note in the log that he would check them in two days. He also sent me an email asking that I not request archiving, just post a DNF, well I had posted DNF's on them. Well he never posted any answer as to the status of the caches, leading me to believe he never bothered to check. To me this is not how this should be done, if you are going to place caches, maintain them, or remove them, don't let people waste their time looking for something you know is probably missing anyway. Should I pursue this with the local cache approvers? not that I know who they are, or should I just let it go? Thanks Sharpshooter.
  3. When I became a premium member, I didn't know what a PQ was, now I love them!!! Just yesterday we were out looking for a cache, that one didn't pan out, so we wanted to find another one to put a travel bug in, and without the PQ info in the pda, we would have been out of luck. When I paid for the premium membership, I did it just because I wanted to support the site. Servers aren't free, and we get a fair amount of entertainment from this. Heck, pizza and soda for two can easily break $30.00 Sharpshooter.
  4. For me, the ultimate geocaching clothes, are the Royal Robbins 5.11 pants or shorts. Plenty of pockets, they don't look like BDU's, and the pants even have pockets inside the knees, for thin knee pads, great for those of us with lousy knees. Love em. Sharpshooter.
  5. Well, I'm a former deputy sheriff with swat experience, our son is a firefighter/paramedic working on developing a swat medic program for his city. Sharpshooter.
  6. My favorites are my Royal Robbins 5.11 pants or shorts. Plenty of pockets, they don't look like bdu's and they have slots inside the knees for kneepads, great when you have knees like mine. Affordable and quite durable. Sharpshooter.
  7. Mine is simple, and not too exciting. I regularly compete in combat pistol competitions, hence the handle.
  8. Well, my number one hobby is competitive combat pistol shooting, then bbq'ing and cooking, woodworking and photographic restoration. Sharpshooter
  9. I haven't, but a friend and co-worker, Jimswim found one, and at a cache not very far from my house. It gave him a good story to tell at work the next day. Sharpshooter.
  10. You can normally get ammo cans from Cheaper Than Dirt. www.cheaperthandirt.com they have all sorts of suplus type gear. Sharpshooter.
