  1. Just got my first 4 geocoins to start my collection this weekend. I received my first coin a Kansas first state cache coin last Thursday from geocaching.com. I love the look of this coin and the fact it comes with a large version and small version is great. And Monday I received a Meades Ranch Benchmark geocoin from ELTADA and one of her personal geocoins. The Meades Ranch geocoin is amazing. And I love the design ELTADA used for the back of her coin. Pretty Sweet. Also got really fast responses from her and would completely do business with her again anytime. I'm still looking for an Initial Point KS/NE benchmark geocoin if anyone out there has one they would sell to me. PM or Email me with offers.
  2. Ok I'm still learning and now it shows. What is a box score? What is its significance? And how do I recognize that a mark has one of these on datasheet? The final is the element(sometimes decorative) on the very top of an object. It isgenerally easy spot from all directions and angles hence the reason it is most commonly the point that is used to site on from a distance. You can log all of them but if they ever changed the finial then in an ngs log it should be marked as destroyed or not found. In the case of the description that is talking about the holes in the platform you would need to find the exact holes that match the description to log that point because the holes are the true mark in that case.
  3. I like challenges and my consulting fees are almost nonexistant.
  4. I got into benchmark hunting a little under a year ago after I found out that my grandfather who worked for the Army Corps of Engineers worked with benchmarks on a daily basis and officially monumented quite a few. I have lived all of my life in Kansas and think it is cool that the intial point is in Kansas. I am just starting to collect geocoins. I dont have any coins to trade as my first coin a Kansas first cache coin is still in the mail. I am looking to purchase a Benchmark Meades Ranch Geodetic Center geocoin and/or Benchmark Initial Point KS/NE geocoin any finish will be ok. I would prefer unactivated but would accept activated please pm or email me.
  5. w 23 1979 I think it will be some where on top of the lava flow. Inside the red circle is where I would look. about five feet east of the cactus. the yellow arrow is pointing at what I assume is the water pipe in the discription which turns to the west at the cactus. The orange arrow is pointing to what could be a construction marker. And the pink arrow could be pointing at a highway right of way marker. The blue line is the set back for the highway where the intersection ends and the road begins which should be at the edge of the highway right of way which is probably about 50 ft from the center of the highway. Notice that the yellow arrow is pointing at what I assume is the bottom of the water pipe in the discription. I would assume it is on the highway right of way but I could be wrong.
  6. I hope I'm posting this in the right place. It's my first post so forgive me if it is not. I found this interesting as I love looking for old and forgotten Benchmarks. This would have been one cool find. I dont know if these would be the oldest benchmarks in the world but 1735 is really old. Roman Marker Used to Measure Earth Found
