  1. Are there currently any issues with the Cache Owner Dashboard? I don't have many caches so I rarely look at it but currently the "Latest activity on your hides" only shows one rather old log from last year wheras I would expect at least a handfull of recent logs left on my caches within the last months. BTW what's the expected content anyway? Regarding the number of shown logs is it cut off by age or by a certain number of logs? Should it contain logs made by myself? PS: I still consider the visual presentation not good. If not in fullscreen mode I need to overly widen my browser window to have the full and small pictures on the right side instead of huge but cut off vertically below the log text.
  2. Leaving beside the other still valid complaints about the new list I have the following two visual suggestions: (1) please don't just grey out the colours of the icons of disabled and archived caches. It makes it difficult to identify the cache type and also if there's a smiley or frouney attached. Suggestion: Only dim or pale the colours. (2) please make it also easier to diffentiate between archived and disabled caches. In the old lists you had the names striked and the name of an archived cache additionally changed to red. Suggestion: Grey out the letters of the name of an archived cache and leave the disabled ones black.
  3. When searching as a BM as a list you get to see all PM caches including GC-code, distance, name, owner and number of favorite points. You even get to see as the first two caches in this list always two PM caches regardless of their distance just to make sure you are immediately reminded that you are missing something as a BM.
  4. Yes and also on the new dashboard I see that my friend has recently loged a certain cache and only when clicking on it I discover that it is a PM cache. I can't see why someone would make this speculation. What eventual additional information I would I get from such lists? No, the reason for excluding Basic Members from that information is IMNSHO purely pushing BMs to become PMs which regarding this very issue is extremely disappointing and this has nothing to do that I'm currently a BM. Take away any access to "convenience"-features of the webpage for BMs, no problem. But don't make it difficult and even impossible to find caches (and consequently logs) of users which you found out have simmilar taste regarding selection of caches or do write informative logs.
  7. Some months ago Groundspeak decided that Basic Members should not be allowed to see this information any longer But currently ist's still possible to use the old search: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx There you can search for caches found by other users..... for now.....
  8. I am not good at math. In fact, I don't understand this. I tried to make a image. If I find myself at #3 and I want to do this AL with a sequential, I have to go to #1 first. Only then/there I can start. And then when I'm done, at #5, I have to go back to #3. In my opinion, I then drive the round trip almost twice. Whereas if I can start at #3, I only have to go around once. Well OK I made the wrong assumption that it was basically a linear AL and you were located geographically between the start and the end point. I can imagine that for most circular ALs a non-sequencial layout would not take away any fun. Nevertheless it's still possible that for telling a story a certain start and end point will be prefered for the creator of a circular AL. And in my opinion she then has a reason to "annoy" or even "exclude" visitors who don't like it that way by making it sequential.
  9. Considering that you want to make the AL in one go it would be completely irrelevant if you lived at the beginning, at the end or if the LA would not be sequential. You always had to travel roughly twice the summarized distance of the stages.
  10. According to some old book it was even god himself who stated that it was that seventh day when he needed to rest But I'm not sure how authoritative that is...
  11. While I couldn't care less I'm also been redirected after loging in to the login sceen again but I am logged in (as my avatar is visible on the top right) and at the bottom down arrow I can view my finds and can log out. Is there any thing else I should expect at that page?
  12. FWIW I don't see this banner on my profile. I guess and hope that it only appears once and is gone after clicking the x. Still it's disappointing since this banner appears as a "warning" that elements are public and calls out to (especially new) user that it's probably better to hide them - at least for non-friends. Instead of inviting and making clear that in such collaborating hobby it might be beneficial that you can have a little bit of insight what other players are up to. Especially hiding your history of visited caches I find extremely ignorant towards the community.
  13. How can one find out what ALs a certain user created/owns? Last time I asked this question the answer I got was "through the bonus cache" which apparently can not be applied here.
  14. That is often referred to as the cache permanence guideline. OK, so why - in reference to this guidline - should a reviewer not make a coordinate update for a recent placed cache?
  15. Before making a remark to this statement I wanted to look up what exactly the "cache permanence" rule is but I was not sucessfull finding it. Neither searching in the Help Center for "cache permanence" (too much search results) or "permanence" (no search result) nor looking for "permanence" within the "Geocache hiding guidelines" gave any results. Only "Temporary caches intended to stay active for fewer than three months will not be published" I could find in the guidlines.

    Reporting Spam

I agree. When I reported the issue two days ago (I guess it's the same) I was also hesitating what to select as proper category.
  17. Since there is no link, how can one find out what ALs a certain user created/owns? Sorry for being a bit off topic.
  18. I agree. And my reply was in regard to naked preforms vs. naked filmcanister and not concerning "special" boxes like birdhouses (which is another controversial topic) And I repeat: I can't find huge differences in searching and examine hiding places for a typical micro like a filmcanister and for a preform. Granted that a transparent preform with a courfull cap might be a bit easier to spot than a black filmcanister but that has nothing to do with the "size".
  19. Yes, the inside is equivalent to a micro and it's annoying how many preforms are classified as small. But since the outside is only marginaly bigger than the inside I can't understand why you and obviously many think it can be seen as a small container. I guess it's because long and narrow objects appear to be much bigger than a compact filmcanister with about the same volume. A small should have at least 100ml which is about the volume of three filmcanisters.
  20. I agree this is sad, but I have to concede that GS has no choice. There's a world wide assault going on against any sense of community in modern societies, and I see GS as more of a victim than a perpetrator. "People" -- well, actually their governments -- are demanding exactly what GS is giving them: the freedom to join a community while simultaneously hiding from it, thus undermining the very point of the community. Exactly. What a dissapointing trend. Don't know how much GS is overreacting but I strongly object against hiding "Founds" and "Gallery". And "Last Visited" should be repaired instead of removed. Taking away insight to what caches other cacher are enjoying and what they find interesting in text and picture morphs Geocaching more and more from a community activity to an annoymous played video game. It is to hope only few will take "advantage" of that possibility to hide away so much of their contributions. I also strongly hope hiding the Gallery is not also hiding the pictures from the Cache-Galleries.
  21. Ich war mir jetzt wegen evenuell installierter Add-Ons unsicher aber selbst in einem jungfräulichen Browser kann ich die "Esri WorldImagery" auswählen. Du nicht?
  22. Considering your sentiments in this forum I'm quite sure you would not support it. Neither do I.
  24. Since no solution was mentioned in this thread may we get to know how you solved it? And could you also please tell how an "unintentional logging of an AL stage" can occure?
