  1. Here's a serious Mr. NoShoulders Cottonmouth at Wall Doxey State Park in Mississippi. This one's a harmless critter, but I have no good idea what its name might be. It was on a trail along the north bank of the Wolf River. Maybe it's a common water snake.
  2. 13 white bumps. Hmmm... Any redness around the bumps? Did they ooze any fluid for a day or two? It sounds like you may have gotten into some chiggers or possibly a single tick that clamped down in 13 spots.
  3. I don't see any on islands in the lake, but there are some around the lake. Hopefully this map will work for you.
  4. You gonna pick them up? I'll drive to Nashville to pick up my share.
  5. eStorm and I got caught in a Tennessee Monsoon back on '03 at GCGW5D.
  6. Shoot. I thought Geowoodstock was July 4th Weekend. Looks like I missed it again. Maybe I should read the forums more often.
  7. You mean the parking area under the bridge near the boat ramp and Trailhead Micro, right? I'll be there.
  8. I'm in! ...if I can get Tuesday off. I'll let you know tomorrow morning.
  9. Heck, just do what I did. Go to Crystal River and rent a canoe. Paddle the mile or so out to the manatee areas and slide into the water. Just stay on your side of the refuge area bouys and you're all set. Of course that was about 15 years ago. They may do things differently now.
  10. Nice podcast ya got going there DD. I'm still holding onto a shred of hope that a Nawlins geocacher might happen to spot Johnny's Rest as it floats past the city. I thought that thing would be safe from the water when I tied it up at eye-level, but another tree fell right onto the cache and knocked it loose.
  11. Awright, Dawg! Next event cache in West TN, you & me gotta get them big V-Twins together and cruise down the backroads!
  12. I'm afraid to park my bike at your place.
  13. Here's my new cachemobile at the Pinson Mounds EarthCache. Honda VTX 1800 Retro. Gotta get some bags so I can quit bungie-cording the pack to the sissy bar.
  14. Sounds like it might be a good occasion for another HotWings Event.
  15. Are you going Indy-Nashville-Memphis-Little Rock or Indy-St Louis-West Memphis-Little Rock or some other route?
  16. Here are a couple of shots from the GOWT CITO at W.C. Johnson Park and Peterson Lake Nature Center in Collierville, TN this morning. There was a lot more trash collected than what is visible in the photos. Don't know how we managed to arrange for all the people but not all the bags to be in the scene. The Collierville Parks Department keeps their parks as close to immaculate as any parks in the country. We had to venture into the wetlands/swamp on the park's periphery in order to make the impact we wanted. It didn't take long at all to realize that was where to find plenty of styrofoam, aluminum cans and plastic bottles -- and an old car battery.
  17. Ok. I have it on my schedule. Hopefully I can get out of Tennessee early enough after our CITO event to make it to southern Mississippi Saturday evening.
  18. heh I was going to suggest a 4-pack as a starter, but, yeah, buy yourself some travel bug tags and see where they go.

  20. Ok, what are they protesting? I think my wife is protesting the fact that I encourage her to log her finds.
  21. Are the Adult Large and XL all gone? I don't see an option for ordering those sizes.
  22. Ahhh! So that was you. Several of the CPD officers are in my Taekwondo class. I'll have to ask them if they nearly got to use you for target practice.
  23. Congrats! I'm re-reading those darned books while RJ's writing the next one... My wife and her sister have done some WOT art. It's at Two Sisters Inn. This is my wife's pencil drawing of Perrin. She hasn't drawn Faile, yet. We all realize that the axe is supposed to have a balancing spike on one side, but she didn't draw it that way. Good luck.
  24. Mammoth Cave, KY. Good camping in the park and the cave tours rock! You'd probably get a kick out of the more adventurous tours they offer. Plenty of mud and muck. I'd love to road-trip with you for Spring Break (never had the chance to do that while I was in school), but these darned kids of mine have grown accustomed to regular meals and I've already spent my dead pool winnings...
  25. It doesn't look like you're missing any of the secrets to Yahoo! Groups. Maybe the GoWT site will have a forum section when it goes live.
