  1. Interesting... I logged one DNF and when I went back to find it I simply edited it to a found log. Once I found it, it's no longer "not found" is it? Oh well. Semantics.
  2. As a pretty avid sports card collector, you geo-trading card guys might want to invest in some soft penny sleeves and hard toploaders. The cards won't get bent and will be well-protected in a penny sleeve inside a toploader. You can usually get 100 penny sleeves for about a buck and 25 toploaders for a couple bucks. Moisture though? Yeah, good luck...
  3. Oh my goodness couldn't agree more! Found one last week. So so so cool. Once my girlfriend graduates and gets a full time job I definitely see us making some up! I mean $110 for 50 pathtags? That's great!
  4. Depends. What song are you singing? (Couldn't help myself)
  5. All that being said, I DID find a 'for keeps' geocoin in a recent cache. Was not expecting it and it's pretty awesome. So yeah, good swag can put a big smile on your face. Just don't expect it to.
  6. I think there's a used golf ball syndicate behind it. Nefarious plans, whatever they are! Considering that I actually lost 3 golf balls on the course last weekend.... maybe I shouldn't complain!
  7. I'm not in this at all for the swag. We trade trinkets for trinkets... but... Seriously, what IS with the golf balls?
  8. Went looking for one over the weekend. It was a magnetic key holder on an electrical box on a little concession stand near a soccer field. Within the amount of time it took just to get to the location (not much time at all), a nearby coach gave us a MAJOR stink eye as we walked around the building. Just walked on by back to the car. He actually walked over to the parking lot and watched us drive away. No idea what that was about but I wasn't hanging around for it!
  9. Amen. To have more time to do the things you want to do....
  10. Just started this hobby about 2 months ago ourselves. We have an eTrex 20 and it works great and is very user friendly for what we need it for. You can upload maps/easily find caches (it even has a geocaching option you can use) and it's relatively inexpensive. So far so good!
  11. I think the forum is too used to people making suggestions like this in complete seriousness. I've only been here a few weeks and this is the most seriously-taken forum I've ever been a part of
  12. I've got to head out to some of these soon. Probably not ready for a 20 mile hike right off the bat so might try the Newark Watershed hike and split it up to two days. Looks like a blast.
  13. My girlfriend geocache together almost exclusively. Should I cut my finds in half?
  14. Found one just yesterday at a trail nearby that I never knew existed. Up in two trees are two dirt bikes, about 75 feet up in the branches. Neatly placed. Somehow. No idea how or who or why. Right off this interesting little trail. The gf and I were blown away.
  15. Finally got my new account set up and the caches I was actually there for have been logged under this account - thanks for your input everyone! - Tom
