The lil Otter has been known to forget stuff on the trail(glasses, cell phone, gps), so at least take comfort in the knowledge that your stuff made it to the truck.

As the parent of the said Girl Scout, I am thrilled that you are doing the presentation. I am excited for the scouts that you will be talking to, also. Remember your first cache? That thrill is still out there for them. Talk to the leader. The next time they go camping, see if they would be interested in caching. Plant a cache specifically for them in mind, maybe even name it for them. I have signed my son up for the boy scouts, and hope that we can introduce caching to them too.

I double checked. It was show number 323. She gives several ideas for walking sticks as well as instructions for preserving them. If a normal stick is not right for you, make your own.

I saw an episode of HGTV Carol Duvall where she had several types of "crafty" walking sticks. From piping, to wood, to acrylic. Painted, stained, stickered, stamped....
I don't know if the website still has the directions, but it could be fun to look.

My kids can find pennies anywhere. My youngest even found a 20 once. He turned it in. Got nothing except praise from mom, dad, and grandparents. If it is for a specific time frame try side walk chalk. If it is longer, sign posts.

Rumor has it that an experts only cache is in the works in Wisconsin. I need to get more practice before it comes up.

I am confused about why you would need a special GPS. All you would need to do is make sure that you have a waterproof solution, even temporarily.
Read the cache description. It will help you alot, as will the logs.
ProStreet put alot of effort into this one, and If I could swim well enough....

In Wisconsin, we have our own website where we can post "looking for someone to cache with". If a cacher is going to be in a particular area and would like company, then they would post a message telling where and when, and try to get a group together.
The one question I have is that you have not posted your location. If you had, then we could direct you to groups in your area.

So you found a religious cache in an ammo box? Does that strike you as an oxymoron? If it makes you uncomfortable, leave your log, and then the scene.

36 this week, and 39 for other half. We got into this when my parents (60 and 59) got into it. We all go caching with kids 7 & 10. I don't know who is harder to keep up with, kids or parents....

I am truly amazed at the ability of Lil Otter to first of all, find as many as she did in such a short time, and second, to be such an inspiration to some of us newbies out here.
I too was at the Wisconsin picnic. I am amazed at how one person can fire up a large number of people. Let the caches be placed, virtual or otherwise. Let's have some fun and learn something in the meantime.
Can you think of any other sport or game that combines the outdoors with the history lessons that can't be taught in a classroom?

After caching for 4 months, I figured out how to use easygps. I wouldn't do it any other way. I have to admit to transposing numbers prior, so this saves me more time than I can compute.
