  1. Can you share with us what your expectations were before you purchased the Monterra? Sure. I anticipated a Montana kind of as a base, but adding the Android, the wi-fi and the apps. It is so unready for release it is unreal. The Geocaching dashboard doesn't even work when in the car mount. It points to the nearest cache and doesn't stop pointing at that cache regardless of whether you have gotten closer to other nearest caches. (Not to mention it points 30-60 degrees off as noted already) It draws maps ugly, with fat ugly lines for trails, a white background for labels, draws things at weird scales. The Garmin Outdoor app is constantly crashing. I could go on and am sure I will have more to add...I have only had it for two days so far!
  2. ...and a nuvi that you have to buy City Navigator for no less!
  3. My experience so far summed up: this is a $700 nuvi that you can put apps on. Not very excited anymore. I hope Garmin fixes everything on this unit SOON!
  4. This didn't work for me. I guess it depends on who answers the phone and how customer-oriented they are.
  5. Wow, thanks for sharing! I am going to have to seriously think about taking this!
  6. I am looking forward to once again doing Wherigos using my GPS.
  7. Hmmm, you can orient the zoom buttons in multiple locations on the new Oregon? Interesting...
  8. That's exactly what I am waiting for...the new Montana!!
  9. Yeah, I anticipate that geocaches will be unlimited, whether the file format is GGZ or GPX.
  10. GPS City claims the unlimited geacaches are for any type of geocache, and not just Opencaching. I asked the question here: GPS City FAQs for Oregon 650t
  11. Thanks, 90% Angel. I intend to try and get out there again...probably in the spring. It looks like a very interesting place.
  12. I don't know, it seemed quite wintery...
  13. I had intended on riding my bike here this Saturday. When we got to the trailhead the snow there was about 5-6 inches deep. Fortunately it wasn't all a waste of a trip out there since our plan B became checking out the nearby Big Four Ice Caves. Hopefully Monte Cristo will still be accessible next year before they start cleaning up the area!
  14. I believe the intent is for it to be a non-beta.
  15. In the medium sized Canadian city that I live in (Kamloops, BC), the imagery that I downloaded is both very old (>5 years), and has yet to be updated. To top it off, it isn't georeferenced very accurately, which is an even bigger complaint, in my mind. Luckily, the product seems much better for larger urban areas such as Greater Vancouver and Seattle, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother with Birdseye. (Although I am not sure if it gets updated there on a regular basis.)
  16. Yeah, but is there a way to turn my Magellan into a Garmin? Sorry, couldn't resist!
  17. Trails that I personally GPSed in BC are now in the new version. But not everything I submitted to NW Trails is in there. I suppose this would be fine as long as they were to acknowledge the source?
  18. I second what savant9 is saying. I will also add that it holds a kajillion caches!
  19. My automatically switches to automotive mode when it's placed in the cradle. The pressure setting was set to Save When Power on for that profile as well. Weird.
  20. My Pressure Trending is set to Save When Power On and I still have issues with the auto mount.
  21. The Montana is sweet. I have both the Montana and an Oregon. The Oregon is definately feeling a little antiquated compared to the Montana.
  22. savant9, you are not helping with the me not buying a Montana scenario!
  23. Perhaps they got your data from Northwest Trails? I don't have the new version so I can't check to see if they have exactly what is in NW Trails. But that would explain why they didn't think they had copied your data.
