  1. Not a geocaching story, but my church recently adopted a mile of highway to clean up. Naturally we had to go to a state approved training program to learn to pick up trash properly. The presenter was giving the dos and don't and with a perfectly straight face, he told us that if we find a dead body we should contact law enforcement. I really wonder if he thought that without that instruction, we would have put the body in one of the plastic bags and left it on the side of the road? Anyway, after 30 + years in law enforcement, that was funny to me. Gersteacker
  2. Let me tell you how thing work in Arkansas. You now have a criminal history that will NEVER go away. Even if they drop the charges in 6 months, you were fingerprinted. That fingerprint card goes to state police who will give it and SID (state identification number). You will show an arrest every time you are checked by the police for ever, and the neat thing about Arkansas, is that there is nothing you can do to ever make it go away. I would take very seriously his early warning about geocaching in Sherwood. Gersteacker
  3. Thank you for all the great suggestions. I am searching the links you gave as we speak. Again, thanks again. Is this hobby as addictive as I think it is going to be? Gerseacker
  4. I've narrowed my choices for a first GPS unit down to just a couple and that brings to mind a few questions. 1. Other than e-bay were are some really good places to shop on-line for GPS units. 2. What other accessories do I need to add to the basic unit at the time of purchase and 3. I notice that on e-bay there are several vendors selling factory refurbished units at very attractive prices. Are these good deals or to be avoided. I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks Gersteacker
