  1. Tap....Tap....Tap...........Is this thing working? Or has the Lilypad dried up?
  2. No, I'm sorry but text color and font type will not be configurable in the logs. However, we will run a script to clean up the old BBCode tags so they will not look cluttered. I know that some, including yourself, enjoyed customizing the log text but for the sake of consistency and readability we feel this is the right move. I'm not sure how a different color or font makes a log any more unreadable than bold, underline, italicized, or strikeout......or any combination of the aforementioned fonts. It seems that you are only encouraging plain old "tftc" (note the lack of capitalization) logs like texters seem to prefer these days instead of wordy logs. How about a little thought in that area? But like another post mentioned, maybe these changes are all about iPhone users?
  3. Like someone already said: Now I have years of logs (7800+ logs) with this useless text: [green] [/green]
  4. Tap, tap, tap.............Is anyone there? This has been going on for 12 hours.
  5. Well, after Centris had a celebration for King Boreas' 1000th hide in the summer of 2006, we are now planning another celebration for his 2000th hide: The Crowning of King Boreas (aka KB's 2000th hide) . Look for a minimum of 300 and maybe 500 or more to attend.

  7. Being the last finder, I can say that it's correctly rated for difficulty. You do need to think differently, as it's not a cache container covered with sticks/bark next to a tree. Other than one of the DNF's, the seekers are fairly new and may not have been looking for a different type of hide. Coordinates are fairly good, maybe you need to go up the hill another 15 feet from GZ, but that's not too bad, since it's a very open location. But.......what TB did you find? The Diabetes one? If so, the cache might be missing. KB always checks on caches if there is clear evidence that it may have been muggled. If that cache was outside the container, it's been muggled. And, this one is very close to his house. But....if it's a Las Vegas TB........I may have dropped it at the site. I had it in my hand and it didn't fit into the container and no longer can locate it. I was hoping it would turn up in a cache soon that I forgot to drop it into when logging the cache. Sometimes you forget. after 358 trackables and 3500+ caches, I have only forgotten about one before and it was actually in a cache. If that's the one, please 'grab' it from me and place into a cache as soon as you can. You have my email, so I can help you log it correctly if that's the one.
  8. Thanks Kia Team for your help. One of the confusing thing was that the .psp was trying to name that file the same as the map file when I generated it. I over-rode the name with one different than the map file and the pushpins never would show. Sometime you just have to trust the computer!
  9. I am trying to export a Pocket Streets file for use on my iPAQ. GSAK exports it as a .pps file, but Pocket Streets on the iPAQ only opens (and searches for) .mps files. I tried opening from the full version of MS Streets and Trips 2005 and exporting it, but there is no option available from that file extension. Hopefully, I just need a small correction to how I am doing this, rather than exporting to a Streets and Trips text file first and then converting it to a Pocket Streets file each time. Thanks
  10. Since the only place to put a background image now is in the field on the "edit cache" page due to HTLM Tidy, how about adding the ability to size the image? Maybe number of images across the page? That way, you could specify "one" if the information is close to the edges. This is important in Puzzle caches or if a hint is in the image.
  11. Shrek & Fiona: You do know that you can try out GSAK for free? GSAK will also upload waypoints to your GPS directly. I tried it for about 30 days and then paid the $30. Best money I ever spent.
  12. We haven't found the need for GPXSonar We use a HP IPAQ with GSAK. All we do is export the files as HTML from GSAK, put the PDA into the sync cradle, and all the cache pages and photos (if you want them) are in the PDA and readable from Internet Explorer. Very simple and no other programs are needed. Whole process for 200 plus pages takes less than 30 seconds. One word of wisdom....When you are exporting the HTML, do not have the PDA in the sync cradle. The graphics (photos, stars, etc.) get garbled. Downside of HP IPAQ....Fast processor=short battery life.
  13. Thanks Uburu for the reminder on the thread's subject. I started this subject, since GC.com prefers that all questions to them be communicated here, in forums. I was asked by Jeremy to provide an example of the code early in the thread. I did that and no answer has come from him, so I am assuming that it got lost in all the opinions about browsers and usage of sound. Seems this has become a forum to express the opinion about sounds (just turn your volume down) and not to discuss the changes that have been applied to the website without the full knowledge of the users. The announcement from GC.com says Tidy is to clean up poorly writtem HTML. Any source out there says that the BGSOUND command is valid. And that being the case, it should not be stripped out. If the intent was to only allow HTML4 commands, then they need to clearly state that in the announcement and the "edit cache" page. As of now, it gives the option of HTML and that's all. BTW....Another thing Tidy takes out is the ability to place one's own background images in as HTML and control the size on the cache page. This also can be important, as many cachers use this for hints or solutuons to the cache. Yes, there is a spot on the cache entry page, but when using it, the control of the size is lost. What's next? Smiley's? Color? Font size? Pictures?
  14. So HTML Tidy is stripping all that out? There area lot of cache pages out there with sound clips and it looks like cache owners need to be warned that editing them will be terminal to that code line. All the sources I have found on HTML (not HTML4) show what I and many others are using to be valid HTML code. How about it Jeremy? Was that GC.com's intent?
  15. Here's two: <BGSOUND src="http://video.fws.gov/sounds/12wolveshowlfar.mp3"> <BGSOUND src="http://video.fws.gov/sounds/44loons.mp3"> One of these is already on one of my TB pages and operates correctly. The 44loons one was on a cache page and disappeared when I edited the cache page. I have even tried to create a cache page with nothing but a sound link and it is gone when you view and edit the cache page.
  16. Sorry if this may have been discussed before, but for some reason HTML sound links disappear if I edit a cache page or try to place them into a new cache page. Existing ones stay if I do not edit the page. Is this a GXing.com purge or part of the new HTML Tidy removal process?
  17. Another question on using another computer that is networked to one using the GSAK data: Is there a way to use the same setup options on a networked computer as are used on the source computer's setup options where the data files are stored? Or do I need to change each field manually to match? I know that you cannot have two GSAKs open at the same time. I am opening and saving the data file via a network and only saving it on one computer.
  18. Maybe this has been suggested before, but here it is--- Since Geocaching.com is presently updating the website, here is a much needed change- Change the TB Bug Sheet printout page so that the TB's goals are printed in a larger font at the top of the page just below the TB's name. The font now is too small and some people never read it. Thanks Grey Wolf and Wild Rice
