  1. I use an old Palm IIIxe I got for $20 off craigslist, Cachemate ($8) and a Magellan Explorist 210. What I do is get my current location off the GPS, enter those coords into the PDA and then call up the closest caches to those coords. Then I can check the details, recent logs etc. Yeah, it's a bit clunky going back and forth, but I got used to it.

  3. I'm in Raritan Boro, just over the bridge from Hillsborough.
  4. Actually, Cachemate costs $8. You can download a demo version to try out before buying. But at $8, you really don't have much to lose on it anyway. Great program. GSAK - Cachemate, perfect combo. -Luke
  5. Good idea! I'm going to try that. I'm still just starting out with these tools and haven't explored all the options yet. Thanks. -Luke
  6. Yeah, after I posted that I realized it's a silly question. I'll ignore the little headings and just write in those fields. thanks. -Luke
  7. Is there a way to write notes in the log page in Cachemate? I see a heading that says "Notes:" just above the items left, taken and TB fields, but I can't write there, only in the other fields. BUt if I export the log to Memo, I can then write in that field. Is this just the way the program works? It would be nice to be able to jot a few things down while logging the cache. -Luke
  8. I found this http://www.surpluscomputers.com/store/main...l&item=COM10533 But being the cheapskate I am, I'd like to keep it under $25 shipped. If I don't land one, either here, eBay, craigslist, by Monday, I'll order from there. -Luke
  9. I'd prefer a Palm of Handspring, but what are you asking for the HP? -Luke
  10. I just got started with geocaching and can immediately see the advantage to going paperless. But after upgrading my GPSr to a more current model, I don't really want to spend too much on a PDA. I've been combing eBay and craigslist for one. Does anyone on the forums have an old one they want to part with. I'm hoping to spend about $25 or so. Thanks! -Luke
  11. My caching buddy has an older Magellan 330 and is considering upgrading his mapping software from the 2001 version of Mapsend to the new one. Anybody have a 330 and use it successfully with Topo 3D? -Luke
  12. I had one, until I sold it a couple days ago. It is a decent GPS and yes you can download to it, but it isn't WAAS enabled. I tried to find a few caches near me with it and couldn't. Later went out with a friend who had a newer WAAS-enabled unit and realized I was looking in the wrong places (although the 315 told me I was at ground zero). You may want to look for a used 330, which has a few more features and is WAAS. They can be had for not much more than a used 315. -Luke
  13. Magellan 315 for sale with manual. Good condition, fully functional. I'm upgrading so this one is going. $65 shipped Priority Mail from NJ. This is only my second post on the forum, but my eBay ID is Luke1977 and my rating is over 250 with 100% positibve. I figured I'd offer it up to you guys first before listing it there. -Luke leelman (at) gmail (dot) com
  14. $115 shipped (priority mail) to NJ? Paypal. Would like to get by the weekend. -Luke
