  1. In a similar vein, I have created an AL that was "outside my comfort zone" and may not be working out as well as I hoped. It seems to cause confusion because it requires some intuitive thinking rather than just counting windows. I'd like to be able to close it and re-use the credit for a different location in a more "traditional" subject matter. Is that possible? Should I even worry about it since credits seems to be awarded on a regular basis? Thanks for your input. Obilon

    "Copy" TB

[You have already handled a "proxy" geocoin... so I am guessing that is not the case with this one. Exactly. Please see my reply to the following post. Thanks for the reply. O.

    "Copy" TB

Well, Ex, here's the deal. As my post explains, the "TB" that I found is NOT the original, nor looks anything LIKE the original, which is still in a different cache in a different state. The tracking number is for a coin in Calif., and this is attached to a plastic dinosaur. Secondly, I have no problem with it, so "get used to seeing it" isn't the issue. The QUESTION is, what do I do with it since the tracking number is for a totally different TB? Thirdly, I'm frustrated, too, about original TBs and TCs disappearing or not being logged properly. Finally, I may be relatively new at GCing, but I'm very experienced in life. One of the things I've learned is that a cordial question should get a cordial response. This IS, after all, just a friendly hobby, right? Thank you for your response, nevertheless. O.

    "Copy" TB

I just found a pseudo-TB with a tracking number and the word "Copy" on both sides of a laminated piece of paper. The tracking number brings up a totally different TB in a different state. What is the best way to handle this pseudo-fake?
  5. Well, those were all really rice answers, but 1. my GPS doesn't have consumer-removable batteries, and 2. I ended up putting it face down on a glass-top stove burner on VERY low heat, with frequent progress checks. After about 20 min. the moisture was gone, but a strange discoloration remained in a thin line where the last of the moisture was...perhaps that salt residue that was mentioned. The GPS is working fine again! Thank you, all!
  6. I dropped my Tom XL330 and put a tiny knick in the screen. Then a short while later a large drop of perspiration fell on the screen and found its way in thru that hole. The GPS touchscreen features quit working almost immediately. What might be the best way to get that moisture out? Will it work again once I do?
  7. Then you get those like me that are not affected by PI, so we just blissfully hunt our way into the woods and meadows...and STILL can't find those silly pill bottles!! Obi

    TB or not TB

SO...someone out there has a VERY nice collection of TC and TB, because I keep looking in Caches that claim to have them (so I can move a couple up the the D.C. area), but can't find one anywhere. How do we get the info removed from caches that don't actually have any? I'm wasting a lot of time looking. Even the "Hotels", where "Take one, leave one" is supposed to be the rule, have come up empty. Any advice? Obi
  9. Thanks! I've been intending to get to it for the past couple of weeks, then it just disappeared. Thanks for the link...and all of the (more or less) helpful advice.
  10. Thanks!! That DOES help. I thought maybe "GA style" meant in red clay and "FL style" meant in water
  11. I'm having trouble finding some caches because I'm not certain what defines "Hidden Florida style" or "Hidden Georgia style". Are there any other phrases I ought to be aware of?
  12. A nearby cache, "Have Thee Faith", that I had not yet found, has disappeared from the list and from the map (Gainesville, FL). What would cause that to happen?
