  1. Haven't logged into the Forums in a while so didn't see the congrats to us on our 1000 until today. Thanks everyone for noticing and the kind words.
  2. We found a TB in the ‘Beyond Beggar’s Tick’ cache that had not been logged into that cache. While doing some research to find out where it came from and to recapture its lost mileage, we found that it came from a cache North of Seattle that had been raided by a ‘Pirate’. The individual considers himself to be a ‘Cache Pirate’ and is part of a group who’s purpose in life is to add a defiant cause to this sport. Info about them can be found on their website, www.piratecaching.com . So now, we not only have ordinary vandals plundering caches and &%#@*& Geocachers stealing TBs, we have these guys raiding caches as their purpose in life. God help us! No doubt this is a primary reason why so many TBs (including ours) have gone missing for months at a time. Shame on you!!!

  4. Try looking at "Buxley's Geocaching Waypoint" at www.brillig.com/geocaching/oregon.shtml I think you will find everything you need for your trip there. Only problem with it though, it doesn't show you "Member's Only" caches. John & Lynn
  5. We have had several TBs go MIA. It sure would be nice if we could track TB movement through cacher's Profile pages. What we mean is, being able to click on someone's 'found' TBs. Presently, we are only able to see how many TBs someone has found, not which ones. How about it Jeremy?

  8. Guilty as charged! We nabbed Geocoin #45 at the cache site 'Mission Impossible, Double Jeopardy' on 9/1/02. Our son bbridges from Spokane had dropped it off. The ONLY reason we kept it was by invitation, words mean things. At that point it had 62.17 miles on it.
  9. I know that the technology exists to automatically e-mail members of proposed changes before they are made to get their input. As an example, an automatic e-mail to all members before the recent changes to the cache page with a response choice, i.e., FOR or AGAINST. Then wait a week or so to poll the responses, then either make the change or don't based on the responses. I think members would then feel that they 'had a hand' in the decision to make the change or not.
  10. I personally like to see the numbers. Since the change, I haven't seen one bit of speed increase so I don't see that as a reason for the change. I like to see how others in my area are progressing, are they inexperienced/experienced with regard to 'not found', etc.. I feel that it's just nice to know without having to go to another page to find out, TALK ABOUT SLOWING THINGS DOWN!!!
