  1. I posted this same irk a few weeks ago. No idea how it got turned on but I'm glad MartyBartfast's instructions did the trick for me and will also work for you, I'm sure. I wonder if it was a new feature added and that is the default setting when it was implemented. However, I use the message center quite frequently and haven't noticed any difference while on the receiving end so maybe we're just special.
  2. You could join one of those rock hiding groups on FB. This is a very popular activity right now and is kinda what you are describing. You paint a rock and hide it and the person who finds it either keeps it or re-hides it. There is no smiley count involved though. It is just for fun. I believe this activity is probably at its peak right now so there are some really neat rocks out there to find. You could hide a cache and put a painted rock next to it for the FTFer to take and re-hide.
  3. Normally I would agree with this statement and think that may have been part of what happened on 3/29 since I did indeed send one log via the app then completed the rest from drafts. Normally I don't do that becasue I have known about the time stamp issue since 2013. But, I did find it very strange that just opening the log in edit mode and then saving it caused the time stamps to rearrange themselves. In my second scenario I created ALL 50 of my logs from drafts that were created on Cachly and completed on the web site with a pc. The ones that I made edits to using the app were then placed out of sequence, even though they had just minutes prior been in the correct order on the site. These edits were done through Cachly AFTER I had created my official log from a draft using the website on my pc. Why would editing an already posted log on my phone change its sequence? It was only after I went back to the web site and edited the log again on there and saved it that it went back to its correct order. I guess I won't be adding photos or making edits through Cachly anymore to already posted logs if this is normal behavior (even though it's far easier).
  4. So glad you posted this as I thought it was only happening to me. My logs MUST be submitted in the order I've found them. Call me crazy but it really matters to me and I love writing and reviewing them as I can relive the whole day/experience/remember other things I did that day besides caching. I call it my geocaching diary so it is important to me. On 3/29 I found 10 caches of a geo-art along a rail trail and 1 DNF. For some reason I decided to log the first cache via Cachly as a real time log and then the rest I just created drafts since that is my normal M.O. Later, I write about my experiences for my own purposes, even on geo-arts. When I got back to my car at the end of the searches that night I then went to GC.com on my phone's browser and created some real logs from my drafts for maybe 5 of them and then the rest I did later that night. The next day I was devastated to find the first log I recorded in real time was now on the site as the 'last' cache found instead of the first. I thought about deleting all the logs but instead I went back and edited the first and last log by adding the find number so I would know when I read them later which order I had actually found them. To my surprise, after I edited the log they moved into the correct order. I think numbering them was only a coincidence but I was very happy to see they were now in order but I thought it very bizarre too. Two days later I found 50 caches while out with friends doing another geo-art. You can imagine how long it took me to write 50 logs. I decided to add a few photos to my logs so I used Cachly to 'edit' the logs and add the photos which is so much easier than sending them from my phone to the pc then uploading. Plus you have the advantage of it wiping the coords from the photo as well. I also used the Cachly 'edit' feature to correct a few typos. I then continued on, logging the rest of the caches on my pc from my recorded drafts until suddenly I noticed they were out of order again! Ugh!!! This time I didn't know what to do. Cry? There was no way I was going to delete and re-do them. I figured I would just have to live with it so I again edited the logs to add the find number so I would at least know which order I found them in and again they magically went back to the correct find order. So weird! I really don't think it has anything to do with me numbering them and that is a coincidence. I think maybe there is a flaw in the code somewhere. My suggestion is to just edit your log that is out of order and I bet it will move back in place to the correct location.
  5. Your total can be seen on the official app from Groundspeak. At the bottom of the open app on the left side is an icon called Profile. Open it and you will see the word Souvenirs and an arrow pointing to the right. If you open that, your total number of Souvenirs will be displayed at the top under the heading Souvenirs. "You have XXX souvenirs" and then a list of the actual souvenirs you've earned are listed under that. My example is for iOS.
  6. Well geez, I sure feel dumb now. Thanks for the help. I don't remember ever checking that so not sure how it got checked in the first place. I knew it had to be me because there were no other threads on the subject.
  7. Is anyone else having this issue? When I use the message center, I type a greeting such as Hello XXXX, and then I hit enter to go to the next line. When I hit enter it is acting as the SEND button and sending the message instead of going to the next line. I used to be able to type a lovely message, proofread it then hit send. Now I have to type everything in one continues line of text being careful not to hit ENTER or my message will send without being complete. I thought maybe it was an issue with my keyboard since a lot of my keys stick on my home PC but I just have sent a message on my work PC and the same thing has happened.
  8. Thank you Ben H. All is now working with my lists.
  9. Anyone else having this issue? If I use the new search page I can't access the new lists/create a new one. It takes me to the OLD lists. I also cannot select the top check box which would insert a check in all caches displayed in the search. Also not working from a cache page - goes to old lists only. Tried on both chrome and firefox. And what is up with the purple highlighting of things I've recently clicked on?
  10. Using the New Dashboard on the website look on the left side under the picture of your avatar. Scroll down to the last section titled Premium Tools. Choose Setup Notifications. From there you can choose which types of caches you want to receive notifications on and also what types of logs. For new caches you would choose "Publish Listing" as the type of notification you wish to receive. If using the old dashboard it is pretty much the same except Premium Tools are called Premium Features and are located on the right side of the web page.
  11. When entering text on a log using the Markdown guide of H3 (Sttement/title) and “ (<quote), they do not display center aligned. When looking up in the help section 3.7 Format cache and trackable logs, there is no mention that these are to be center aligned. However, if you went to an already posted log and used the How To Format button, it says these should be center aligned. I think this may have worked at some time in the past but recently I have not been able to get it to center align. Personally, I think it looks dumb left aligned but I do use it occasionally because it's big and it's green (one of my favorites). Can this be changed back to be center aligned? If not, can the page be changed to not mention it will be center aligned.
  12. Why is it when I use the H3 in a log I get as shown below (left aligned)? It says it is to be center aligned. I've seen others center aligned but I can not get it to work. Any help is appreciated.
  13. Thanks for "sharing" that information Hans. That was just an assumption on my part. I have never shared a list with anyone and have only on a few rare occasions actually shared corrected coords with someone.
  14. I ran this exact scenario today using a list of 61 solved puzzles because I wanted to use the map view of the PQ preview (which I could have done much more easily using the search feature but I wasn't thinking). When I viewed the map of caches from the PQ I was surprised to see smiley faces in locations where I knew I did not find a cache. It was showing me the original coords. I didn't verify all of them earlier so I just ran the same PQ and compared it against the same list using the map view of both the PQ and the map view in Cachly. What I noticed was that all unfound solved puzzles were shown at the corrected coords on both map views but the found caches in the PQ showed some at the original and some at the solved coordinates. I thought maybe the PQ was trying to show all the found caches at the original location same as it does using the map on the website - where the pin moves back to the original published coordinates once found but that is not true since I got a mix of both corrected and original. The map view on Cachly showed all caches, regardless of found status, at the corrected locations. If you wanted to share your list of solved mysteries with someone it could potentially send them on a wild goose chase for some of the caches. You would think in the case of lists for solved mysteries it should present the corrected coordinates. I don't think your membership status has anything to do with it. Mine's been renewed since August.
  15. v 5.8, iOS 11.2, iPhone 7 My text size is set to 5 out of 7 (3rd slash from the right) Display Zoom = Zoomed When I turned display zoom back to standard everything displays fine.
  16. If a user has over 9,999 finds it’s only displaying the first three digits and three dots and no capability to show the real total. Other than that, great addition. Edit: just noticed it’s not all users over 9999. Some are displaying correctly.
  17. Kunarion's method is spot on and absolutely the easiest way to do it.
  18. I just cached offline while on a Caribbean cruise. Had my phone in airplane mode the whole time. Granted, I used Cachly, but you can accomplish the same thing following the link posted by AnnaMoritz. It worked great for me. I was able to find a few caches, collect a DNF and save my logs as pending which then uploaded as drafts when I got back to the US. I then completed my logs at home. All my logs were in the order I found them and it worked flawlessly. You just need to plan ahead. Make a list of the caches you'd like to find and save them to a list and be sure to download the list for offline use before leaving the country if using the official app. I just tested this using the official app at my desk in airplane mode with no WiFi and it works great. I also use this method when I know I'll be going into the woods and might lose service. I just move the map pointer in the app to the area I'll be in and save all the visible caches to a list available for offline use while I still have LTE service. That way, if I do lose reception, I'll still have access to caches to find. When I'm done I just delete the list.
  19. Have you tried reaching out to the user who started this topic in 2008? https://forums.geocaching.com/GC/index.php?/topic/190365-introducing-geogems™/ If these are still available I'd love to purchase one too.
  20. I switched maps to "Leaflet' and can scroll again. Guess I'll have to get used to that map. I prefer the google map but don't want to use it in full screen. One handed mouse control on Google maps is to hold the left click down and use scroll wheel at the same time. That is a pain so I'll be using the "Leaflet" map for convenience.
  21. I get that as well but I also get the option to open it in the app which then presents the list of cartridges I've already downloaded
  22. What I do on my phone is open the Wherigo link from the cache page using safari. Most cache pages do not have a link in the description and instead have the link to the Wherigo site set up as a Related Web Page which you cannot get to from the app. Using the link in the cache page if provided or from the Related Web Page, you will be sent to the Wherigo site to the page for that cartridge. Select Download then choose Pocket PC Device from the drop down then select Download Now. The cartridge will load to the Wherigo app that you must have already installed on your phone. Some magic will happen and you should get a message to open in the Wherigo app. Click open and a new window will pop for the Wherigo app. Choose the Wherigo you want to play from the list and off you go. Once you've completed the cartridge you can update the coords on the cache page like any other mystery cache using the pencil icon next to the posted coords. Be sure to save your game unless you want to play it again. Hope that makes sense
  23. Google the name of the item and I’m sure you’ll find some other views.
