  1. I was pretty surprised when Tamadw found it in the buff. I purposefully placed it in a popular public park as a joke. A joke? Geostreaking is serious business, sonny. I think you need to straighten up. A little bit overkill doncha think? Geez.
  2. Thanks skyraider! You've been a lot of places that I have (including Jamaica) My profile pics were taken in 9 mile and Runaway Bay. Um..and no, I'm not nominating myself for nude cacher either. lol! Someday, I hope to meet you on one of those real terrain benders.
  3. When my kids and I were at our cabin several years ago, we had an encounter with copperheads. I gave my kidlets one of those insect containers (the one with the magnifying glass on top). I wanted them to explore and discover. Oh boy....I didn't realize how curious they were! When they brought it back to me to show their discovery...I was horrified to find a dozen baby copperheads!! After I got my breath back, I asked them how they managed to get all of them into the container. Their response???? "We picked up the big one and took the little ones." After I was revived, we disposed of the babies humanely in a remote area of the Allegheny Mtns.
  4. I'm one of the guilty ones I suppose when it comes to rating a terrain higher than it probably is. This is my personal reasoning for it. I'm a mom...and I have personally witnessed some people taking their toddlers on some really difficult hikes. Yes, it's their right as a parent. No, I never say a word to them. I'd rather give the cache a higher rating based on real dangers so that my conscience is clear just in case someone wants to push the envelope with a kid. I only have one cache that I rated a 4 called the Blue Tower Cliffs, but now..I'm second guessing myself and dropped it to a 3.5. I'll wait for a bit and if I have to, I'll up it to a 4 again. By the way...congratulations on being the first to find on that particular cache! Darn..I knew that name sounded familiar.
  5. I've had a couple of cute encounters with baby animals near the caches. Baby Groundhogs Baby Squirrel
  6. Wow..if that's how you humorously phrase a question on the boards, I can't wait to see some of your logs when you finally get out there. I'm sure that your logs will be greatly entertaining. Welcome to the world of geocaching. I really hope that you find some useful information here.
  7. Be safe and have a great time, just keep it under 900 OK, you don't want a ticket from the Geo-Police! At this rate, I'd be ticketed by the geo-police for caching too slow. I only snagged one yesterday.
  8. Darn, that was a good answer. Wish I would have thought of it first.
  9. 900 miles is a long way for me to travel to prove a point, but hey...I'm game. I wan't to find the darn cache and log it FFTF. (First FEMALE to find), just to see if it gets deleted as well.
  10. Well, sometimes there IS an FTF prize (and indeed it sometimes is CASH MONEY)! GOD FORBID that the co-FTF team should actually share that too! Well if I'm gonna' get my panties all twisted over a couple of bucks...
  11. Oh my, sometimes the issues that are being debated make my head hurt. Why are they so important to some people? There is no prize, no money, and no real fame for having the most geocaches or being the first to find. If there was a prize..I'd be the first to turn into one mean little vigilante on the cheaters.
  12. For me personally, I don't see a problem. We have so many issues regarding people who take things and leave nothing at all. I'd feel greatful that you've at least left something of value.
  13. It's muggle. Muggle MUGGLE MUGGLE!!!! Not Muggler. Sorry, that just really bothers me... So tell me what's REALLY bothering you? Maybe you should step into my office so we can discuss these issues that you're having with mufflers.
  14. How do you delete just a picture? You don't. It's the whole log or nothing. Yeah, that's one of those things that was promised over a year ago. They are too busy giving us stuff that we don't need and don't want. It would just make sense to have an option for the CO to delete a photo and not the whole log. Sometimes people inadvertantly post a pic of the actual location of a cache, or post a pic of a special container that was meant to surprise or confound a finder. When I posted previously, I just assumed ( ) that the option would be available. My assumption was based on the fact that you can delete photos from your own cache page or logs. However, I was mistaken and found that as a CO, you can not delete photos from your cache page without also deleting the whole log. That's a shame. You shouldn't have to go through all the trouble of emailing the finder to tell him why their log is being deleted, then have them go through the trouble of re-logging the find without the photo. I'm not a computer programmer, but this feature shouldn't be too hard to implement. Why isn't it offered I wonder?
  15. That picture is sooo cool. I never had the nerve to try something as small as a pencil eraser. I'd cut my thumbs off for sure.
  16. I can push the caps lock key with my nose. No really, I can! If he would make use of that really cool key, then the CO won't be shouting anymore...but then will anyone forgive him for not capitalizing his sentences or proper nouns? Probably not, but it's better than shouting. It's sort of like a person yelling in a church because they refuse to wear their hearing aid.
  17. Two words come to mind that adequately describe this CO...but I'm not sure I'm allowed to say them on the board...so I won't.
  18. Most of them do have permission. If you have a hand carved stamp, the last thing that you want is for the box to go missing by an irate owner. Letterboxers just don't seem to think of putting the permissions with the clues because it's assumed that you have done that.
  19. I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. Just kidding. I'm sure that all caches are interesting in their own way.
  20. Caches that are located on, under or near dumpsters. I mean REALLY? Those always get a DNF from me. Gross.
  21. This is the kind of place that I think is worthy of visiting because I love historical areas. Sadly, I'll probably never have the opportunity to visit it because of the distance. However, I gave you a thumbs up..just because I can.
