thanks for replying, yes it went to Wherigo. I woke up this mornning and had an idea. I opened the destination folder and the garmin oregon folder side by side with the garmin hooked to the computer and dragged and dropped it and it worked!! I guess I just had to think about it. thanks for replying. when it warms up I will try my first! Patty

Hello I am new to werigo and have a garmin oregon. I have down loaded the file to my desktop and click on it and it has the option to save to oregon. Then when I go to the gps, under the werigo button its not there!! help!! Patty

I recently grabbed a texas geocoin from a cache, it was not listed on the cache contents. It said I had to log it on to texasgeocaching.com which I did so the owner could see where it was. the site said it had never been activated. How do I go about getting it to show up on geocaching.com like I see all the other geocoins?

I am trying to place links on my cache page, ie. to other caches or websites, and I can not figure out how . Someone told me to enable HTML, and right click on the cache page then scroll down and see how it is done, but to be honest with you I still have not a clue! , I tried putting these <things> around it I tried to underline it but the program wont let me! I tried to enter aspx on the funky computer programming looking screen. BUT IT WONT WORK SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! Patty

This may be diffucult to follow, so please bear with me. While editing your profile, select the 'HTML' checkbox. In the section where you want your FTF's to go, enter the following: Our FTF's: <br> <ul> <li><a href="*****">Cache Name</a> <li><a href="*****">Another cache name</a> </ul> The ***** are to be replaced with the URL (web address) of the cache you were first to find on. For example, if you were FTF on 'Journey to Atlantis', you would replace ***** with http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c5-bcf43f10b6e7 Giving you a line that would look like this: <li><a href="http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=f0215b79-3117-4f1c-92c5-bcf43f10b6e7">Journey to Atlantis</a> Check out my profile for an example of what this will look like. If you want to include dates too, let me know.

wulf Thanks for your help when I went back again to check my preferences in easy gps, the was the word world, when I clicked on that it gave me specific areas of the world like...North America DUH! When I changed that the coordinates then matched exactly and went into my gps exactly PHEW! No wonder I was walking through a bunch of garbage today and never found the cache. that was exhausting i think Im going to bed. Thanks again! I think Im caching on.... that was bad! Patty

I think I am making progress, I went to my easy gps and there was no format under preferences so I changed that to match my gps. Now when I download the coordinates from geocache.com the coordinates are still off by 10 or so on the last digits on the coordinates. In other words they dont match the geocache coordinates exactly but close. when I download the coordinates from geocache to my cachemate in my palm they are exact. (I did actually get that to work by myself!

I dont have mapsource, just easygps and trial version expertgps. I did try resetting my gps that way even changed it to utm nad97 and those coordinates were still wrong. do I need some sort of mapping program in my computer besides easygps. I was looking at delorme Patty

If anyone can tell me what happened, when I download the geocache coordinates by clicking the box on the right it downloads to a file in my documents but when I double check the coordinates my computer has downloaded the wrong numbers. this only seemd to start happening after I downloaded cachemate and the cmconverter that I was supposed to download. also it turned all the names in my gps to letters and numbers (I guess its the cache id) but now my gps has all the wrong coordinates too my gps is a legend and the settings are hddd.ddddd WGS84 Does anyone know what is wrong? I have been working on this for hours Thanks

Thanks Bgunner I thought i was doing something wrong because of all the open windows, but I guess that is just how it works. I like your idea of drag and dropping just the coordinates for the days outing. Thanks for the advice! O.K..... the tadpole

Chuy You are right, I was trying to download one at a time. I followed eisen's advice and clicked on the boxes to the right of the caches I wanted to download and then I could save them to my documents if I renamed each file saved. The problem i then had was they were not all saved to the same easygps file, so i had to click on multiple easygps files to get each saved group of caches instead of just clicking on one easygps to get them all. Sorry I am not completely computer literate. But I try real hard! As far as printing maps I have the free version of easy gps, and all it shows are my little cache boxes and no map at all, if you have good advice on map software that is easy to use and works with easygps (you see i chose that because of the word easy ) I would appreciate it. I am working with an old garmin legend B/w with no map capability and am wanting to purchase a newer/better gps with mapping/mapprinting capabilities. So if you are sooo... inclined to give me that information it would be really really appreciated Thank you for your time Patty

Hi if any one can tell me what i am doing wrong. I am new to geocaching and find it a lot of fun until it is computer time, I have the easygps I have an etrex legend (an old one with current software). I went to geocache.com and am trying to download the waypoints by clicking on the icon that is supposed to automatically place the way points in my easygps to download to my gps at a later date. (whew!) So the first time i clicked on the icon it asked me to save it, i did, and wow it went right into my easygps software, I thought I was on a roll, well the very next waypoint i clicked on asked me to save it and when i did it tried to go to my documents where there was aready a geocaching save from the first one and it would not save it unless i deleted the previous save. also how do i plot the waypoints on a map in easy gps to print to carry with me. thankyou!
