  1. We are starting a huge database of haunted locations using GPS coordinates. If you know of any places (can be numerous at one area aka Gettysburg) We'd love to hear about it. Leave me a PM!!!!

  6. I guess given the number of these things, the percent of vandalism is low. Look at it that way.
  7. you may want to show the paper first then whip out the ammo case AFTER he says yes.

  9. I'm 40 and ready to die now, have done everything and geocaching came along just in time as I was about to go to florida and lay down to die. I have started a craze at my work (The Hubble Telescope) and we'll see. I see geocaching as filling a huge void right now and a chance to hike with an attitude.
  10. My gosh. The three aces bug is just sitting. Marylanders, treat yourself and have the three-aces bug as your guest for a period of time.

  12. Bugs sometimes need to be put down when they're useful lives are finished. Stay tuned. It may even have a Stephen King theme to it or since I'm in Baltimore it may have an Edgar Allen Poe theme or be located near his grave. As for bug-only caches, I don't understand. A cache is a cache or at least should be.
  13. The system CAN handle such a thing and it is done all the time. Ony one bug symbol will show on the cache list but in the description page all of the bugs present will list. I say go for it. I do it lots of times.
  14. Zappers Proposal #1, bug must be returned to a cache within 1 month. If after 1 week the bug still resides at the cache, the placer may re-retrieve it then only for the purpose of moving it within another week. Proposal #2 No bug shall be falsely logged. Photo's shall not clearly show the bug ID number. Proposal #3 Hitchhikers can be altered but not detached from the TB. Adding additional items hitchhikers to a bug is permitted. I.e. a keychain full of keys or a beanie with pins attached etc. unless specific TB instructions say otherwise. More info? see http://fourscoreandsevenyearsablog.blogspot.com More to come. 15. I only take bugs for the sake of moving them and it really depends on where they want to go but I have moved as many as three at a time but I try to bring back the same amount if it is applicable. I'd say a month should be a limit on holding them. If your travel plans are that unreliable then put the thing where someone else can get it , photo it or whatever while you had it, and if no one gets it, go back and take another stab at it. I did this out of guilt with the Mrs. Ghotti bug and then went and added 1400 miles to it. Just an idea. You can call it Zappers proposal #1 (yes I started a Zapper's List of proposals) [This message was edited by The Bug Zapper on August 05, 2002 at 07:03 PM.]
  16. We can click on that bug and actually see where the cacher has been. Not a bad idea.

  18. I myself was in a tarrantula/snake riddled area and was quite cautious but no doubt was a little scared. Never reach into a hole or a hollow tree. Always use a stick or something first and look around for a place to run before you think you need it. All we can do is try to use our better judgement when placing them. We already know to consider the wildlife and nature preservation. Just consider some safety when placing the darn thing. If an event happens, note it in the logs. I.e. hey watch out for falling rocks on this one or I saw a rattlesnake on the way or some such

  20. Maybe the bugs come back evil or something... A bug dump maybe? Like in Nevada's test site. How about sending them into the ocean or in a volcano? Land of miisfit bugs? I dunno. No doubt, we need to do something.
  21. Geo caching and biking go good together. Just keep your eyes peeled for the idiots on 4 wheels.
