  1. I am using the trimble software on my new Sanyo Katana 6600. I bought the phone so I could use the application. So far, I'm not as excited as other users, but I will keep trying. I guess it's so slow compared to a traditional GPS and PDA setup--But for sure the flexibility is the selling point. One minor issue that's kind of major for an old guy like me. I have been able to adjust the fnt size on every aspect of my phone EXCEPT applications. I can not figure out how to get it away from the tiny type. Anyone have any tips? I changed the browser font size, phone font size, and every font setting I could find--but I could not find anything within the Trimble application or on the Sprint Katana's settings pertaining to font size within applications. any tips for aging eyes would be most apperciated. -Captain Max-

  3. Garmin's GPS has a maximum of 1000 waypoints, causing problems for long roadtrips without a laptop to Xfer waypoints. I do have an Axim V51 where I can store countless GPX files, but havent figured out a cable and software interface to Xfer waypoints from GPX Sonar or similar software to the Garmin unit. If there were am interface cable and a way to send wayponts, that would be great. Anybody know a workaround to the memory issue? Why only 1000 waypoints anyway? There's tons of memory available on the SD card I have--but I can only seem to use it for Mapping--not waypoints.
  4. Garmin now offers two street mapping software solutions that will work with my new 76Csx unit. I already own the TOPO series which is straightforward, but this street mapping stuff is complicated--DVD or CD, locked or unlocked. One is $30 more than the other-but does that make it Faster, Better, Nicer.? They seemingly do the same thing and the Garmin website and REI isnt all that helpful in deciphering which to get. They just say get whatever is compatible with your unit--Well BOTh are..sheesh. Any advice would be extremely helpful. THANKSS!!
  5. Yes. I finally--after 5 years--upgraded my Etrex Vista to the 76Csx. I am blown away by the speed, accuracy, and it works inside my house, on the floor of my car, in deep woods. It always seems to pick up 8 satellites and accuracy has never been below 18 ft...yet. Works in places the Vista didnt even register. I gave it a week before packing up my Vista and sending it off to my little sister as a gift to get her started in geocaching. Now I just can't figure out which road software to buy. I have the US TOPO series, but that's not great for urban caching. I have 2 choices for metro, and don;t understand the differences. Oh yeah--battery life is awesome compared to the Etrex series. Buy it if you can fford it.
  6. Does anyone know have any experienmce with the New DELL PDA Navigation System. I use it in the car with a bluetooth wireless GPSr which is great for driving, and I use my Etrex Vista for the find, but I want to load the waypoints into the Dell System's Point of interet file, but can't find software or figure out how to deviate from the standard points (parks, hospitals, etc) that they give you. There has to be an easy way to do this, I'm just not finding it. I tried the program createed by as77 to do this with another mapping tool but it doesnt work. The Dell uses Navteq mapset, but branded it as their own. An insighth would be great. THANKS!!
