  1. Nothing like a good ol' salt beef bucket. Check out "Salt Beef Junkie", (GC8304). It's been in place for 3 years now. Latest find indicates some dampness, but I'm thinking this is probably due to the cover not being replcaed properly. Happy Caching!!
  2. Hi All, Thanks for the replies. As mentioned, the only parameters I had was that I filtered out my own, as well as caches found. I'd like to create a link, but it was a one time query that is now deleted. I would have thought it would have searched based on my home co-ordinates. I wonder if that can be an added feature. My postal code was not found, so I think that the database needs to be updated as well. I ran another query, and entered my home co-ords, bumped up to 130 waypoints, and seem to have gotten better results. Hey Groundspeak, if you're reading, please note above suggestions. Keep up the great work!! M.
  3. okay, so in an attempt to streamline downloading waypoints within my area, i decided to sign up, and ran a pocket query. the only parameters i loaded were that i did not want caches that were mine, nor caches that i've found. i asked for all within a 100mi radius. this resulted in 100 caches, but did not list some 20 that were closer to me than others that were listed. i ran a manual search, turned up 120 caches, including the ones closest to me. i think i am able to answer one of my questions in that if i increase the # of caches for the qurey to report, i should get all of them, but my second question is that, apart from the parameters entered, how does the pocket query determine what results to report? i would have thought it would report closest caches 1st, but this is obviously not the case. the preview does not seem to indicate they are sorted by name, distance from home co-ord's, date placed, difficulty, waypoint name, or even last found. are they totally random within the 100 miles chosen? i'm proabably missing the obvious, but thanks for any input that would help me find the results i want from the pocket queries. team geo supremo
  4. Hey there Mopar, I'm curious, exactly how do you refresh your caches so quickly? I find I have to go through pages of caches, and match waypoints to those already in my gps. One thing that may slow me down is that prior to uploading to my gps, I rename all my waypoints to the more familiar cache names . I do this with EasyGPS, and it helps me remember any particular details to assist in finding the caches. Thanks for your replies people!
  5. looks fine to me in IE 6 as well as Mozilla Firefox
  6. Hi All, Please forgive if this has been posted before, but a quick search didn't turn up anything. Anyway, if possible, I'd like to see cache's marked once you download them. Perhaps this can be done in a similar fashion to marking cache finds?? I belive this would assist many cachers in locating caches they haven't downloaded yet. The weekly announcement of new caches is great, but I don't always get a chance to update my downloads when new caches are posted. Otherwise, if anybody has a better suggestion for tracking cache downloads, then I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, and keep up the great work!!!
  7. Jeremy, Nice to meet you. Thanks for creating www.geocaching.com!! Today, I am able to upload the images. I'm not sure what happened as nothing has changed that I am aware of. My images are jpegs, and none larger than 4 megs. I usually let your software do the resizing, and it has never been an issue. For a couple days I was getting a "page cannot be displayed" when attempting to upload images. Today, I can now upload 4 megs jpegs as well as images i've resized to 600 pixels wide. I'm at a loss for the cause of the connection problem, but it seems to have resolved itself. Thanks anyway, and keep up the great work!
  8. Hi, I can't seem to find a forum for reporting problems with the geocaching.com website, so i hope somebody can point me in the right direction........... Anyway, I was posting a new cache and uploading images for the cache. I got three uploaded, and when I attempted to upload a fourth, I get a page cannot be displayed error for this page when I click on the upload button: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cupload.aspx?id=151997. Any ideas? Are there any limits to uploads? TIA, Team Geo Supremo!
  9. Quote: "After each cacher's name, it no longer shows their found count: ''September 15 by travisl (138 found)'' no longer has the ''(138 found)''. I too miss this feature! It instilled competition between fellow geocachers in my area to see who could find the most caches. Now it's harder to keep track of such things

  11. I too would be interested in recommendations for geocaches. I will be staying in the New Glasgow area. Thanks, Monty
  12. Hi, what region of Newfoundland will you be visiting? I have found 15 on the Avalon Peninsula that I can recommend, and a friend in central can probably recommend a few more. Monty
