  1. Never eat yellow snow a good piece of advice that was given to me years ago.
  2. I placed a cache out in the woods - and inside it i put a set of those plastic chattering false teeth - wound up of course. Has me in stitches when the finder makes a comment in their log. so far no-ones taken them as a swap item, theyve wound them back up for the next finder.
  3. Golf balls - totally agree there - im in the process of collecting all the ones i find, and im going to set a cache near home with them in, with the instructions to 'drop off, swap, trade down - take as many as you want. im sure the golfers will appreciate them!
  4. Hi - id like views from the forum please: Im working on a puzzle/encryption cache and was thinking along the lines of a couple of puzzles to solve, which leads to a camouflages micro, which contains a 'codeword' - the finder then needs to return to the cache page on the internet (mobile or otherwise) and use the codeword to crack an encyption puzzle which will then reveal the final cache co-ordinates Is this idea acceptable? - it may appeal to local cachers but may deter those who travel further? Thanks in advance
  5. Hi - i use a sony clie, running the same Palm OS as your M125 - i use QuickOffice - as a word viewer - i download the waypoints into my Etrex using a cable - but with the cache details i copy and paste (paste special, unformatted text) into a word document - delete the bits i dont want - save it, file name the waypoint and a short description, and then link it to my Palm with quick office and hotsync it - each file takes up about 8k, and is really easy to read and edit (especially multi caches - typing in the info and resaving the file.) i also use a Blackberry and the wap.geocaching.com site when im out and about and that works really well also if you need a source for quickoffice - email me and i'll help bashstreetkids@blueyonder.co.uk
  6. 'when you shop in a supermarket and spend more time looking at the containers the products come in, rather than the products themselves, thinking "wonder if thats waterproof...that would be a good micro...could i squeeze a log book and 4-5 toys and a TB in that...etc" '
  7. NO REPLIES NEEDED THANKS - found the answers in the Groundspeak FAQ Cheers
  8. having got a lot of enjoyment with this sport in the last few months i'm starting to set my own caches - using the on-line form i can put all the information in i need, but i want to add pictures within the description itself and i cant seem to be bale to copy and past them into the online form - theres obviously another way - can someone enlighten me please? and also adding hyperlinks to, for example, the FTF'ders profile . many thanks
  9. thanks for that - i wasnt thinking of it for commercial reasons - but i can see that it may be construed as such- as i said only toying with an idea - will stop toying with this particular one thanks for the prompt replies!
  10. I was toying with the idea of placing a short term cache at an event later this year: without giving too much away its a pay-entry event that lasts for 5 days - of those i was thinking to set the cache for 2 days(which is when i shall be there) - in effect it would be a virtual cache but with a bit of added interest and a good FTF 'award' Do these sort of things exist and are they sought after by geocachers? id appreciate any comments thanks
