  1. Thank you everyone !!! It sure has been an interesting 2 years... and have logged many miles getting to this milestone. Now onto the next 1K !!
  2. Stat page web host is dead. I sent an e-mail out and here is the response (from InsideCorner.com): Unfortunately, the site has been shut down and the company has gone out of business. All of our operations will cease completely on 8/15/2003. Thanks for the interest, Mike Haboustak InsideCorner.com, LLC

  4. What do you call Fresh_Meat in your area? A geo_ogre... as it is in the AV. Please add my avatar to the list !! [This message was edited by Fresh_Meat on July 28, 2003 at 01:25 PM.]
  5. quote:Words of wisdom from The Poison Oak FAQ:You cannot say, "Don't you know what it looks like?" Many apologies for violating the rules.
  6. Zzzoey.... Sorry that I helped instigate your latest infection. Myself... not really affected by it and never have worried about catching it. I'm not bragging... just that I don't really know what it might look like to avoid putting caches in the area. Many apologies!
  7. LB, Thanks for the effort in getting this way. Ditto to Zzzoey... though we missed out on your visit. I love these event caches and getting caught up with everyone. I thought we had a great time on Sat. with everyone who showed up.
  8. Yeah... a week night for me would work good. You know, I haven't had buffalo wings in a while. What do you think???
  9. Okay, someone is posing as me: fresh_meat is ranked 44 and has played for 4h23m in 14 days real name At least after 4 hours they aren't doing too bad... unless there's only 44 people.
  10. I tried to exaggerate as much as I could. For the truth should come out when they meet you in person!!!
  11. We'll be ready for you here!! Might even have to put some more caches along the bike pathes for you.
  12. And: Willamette River Micro If you start at this one, the same bike path will end with the Eugene Micro #7. There is a huge bike path system that follows the Willamette River through Eugene and into Springfield. If we can plan it right... might even get a pizza station close by. You'll never have to get off your bikes.
  13. Being a moving cache owner and hunter, I think that these cache should be allowed as it still follows the spirit of geocaching. You're still using a GPS to search for the "ammo can", the only difference is that it may have been taken and moved or you pack it out with you. The admins. of geocaching have added stipulations of marking a moved/taken cache... with a tepee of sticks, note or flag. This was a good idea that they came up with... this way people who are just behind the times knows that what they are searching for had been taken. Please add this variation back into the geocaching family. It adds a little twist to the original game.
  14. Jay tells such a great story. Almost brought a tear of happiness to my eyes. Knowing the FOFles (as we call them here), I like giving them a bad time. Myself... Oregon born. Traveled around a bit but just ended up back here. Here's a thought... you would think a college called Slippery Rock would be out here... from either the moss growing on it or the rain.
  15. Alien geocaching... sounds like fun. The other thing in the movie that I thought would relate to a current game: Ouija Klingon. Just grab his hand to find the bad guys!!!
  16. Words that you thought would never be uttered when talking about Oregon geocaching! Sounds like fun. I think that I will try to make this one. Weather/time permitting, of course.
  17. Have you looked at the WSGA is doing? They worked with the Washington State Park Dept. to come up with guide lines for putting caches in the parks. Things like like, but for Oregon cachers. Maybe regional groups might be more effective for counties and municipalities. I'm talking basic and general, not knowing how to set up such an item. But people should be willing to go most anywhere there is a "meeting" if they joined or are participating members. Maybe it's just a gathering site for cachers of Oregon to come and talk. Maybe guidence on placing caches or to help speak out on the sport. I know that doesn't sound much different than what is done ad-hoc today. That's why I posted the question... to see if it might make sense to do it on a state level. Been kicking the idea around to see if something like this would fly for the Eugene/Corvallis area... just help newbies or media if they have question. Maybe also work with Lane/Benton/Linn/etc. County Parks to see where we can hide caches, that kind of stuff. I just then thought on a bigger scale... seeing what a state-wide group might provide or help with this sport.
  18. I was curious if there would be any support in Oregon for a state wide geocaching association? It sounds like it would be fun to get people from this state together and to have a voice that could be heard on the different issues that affect us... or to promote the sport... or whatever!!! Opinions, comments? Good, bad?
  19. We might even give people the grand tour!!
  20. In response to Zzzoey: quote:Originally posted by Zzzoey:we were able to find 17 in a day and still drive home to Madras. 35-40 seems like a stretch illDRIVEuNav I went down to KFalls and in one weekend (Just Sat. and Sun.) was able to do 50! I did 16 one day and the rest the next. The problem is the keyboard cramps you get for filling all of those logs in.
