  1. Are many people seeing these out there? I just submitted a design for one for our team after picking one up myself in a cache and really thinking they were cool. This was the first one I have seen in WI and I think I got it by accident because the owner of the tag did not visit that cache. I think somebody got it from another cache and did not know what it was and regifted it. I am happy they did! Just curious if they are taking off and becoming more popular in other areas *I hope so!
  2. Uh oh, I used to leave crayons too, never thought about them melting, doy... Guess I won't do that anymore! I hate it when people leave stuff like shampoo, lip balm, make up = gross.
  3. Why would you want to do that? If you have already "Found" the cache, what would make you want to log another "Found It?" Just curious . . . I have recently done this on one cache that was moved due to high water and in a completely different location. The cache owner updated the coordinates on the page so essentially it was a new hide, completely different from the previous hide also. All that was basically the same was the cache name. If I remember correctly, the cache container is even different.
  4. Now that would be funny - holding a flag! I did get a "bug" similar to what you are talking about on E-Bay - I think it was supposed to be a dragonfly, but it might work. Mine was in a tree however, and the resident critter ate it up thinking it was real. There was only parts of it left and I had to replace it.
  5. That is great to know! Part of the problem is that this happened PRIOR to my loading the maps for northern WI. I also never had the circle around the black arrow before, does that have something to do with projecting a waypoint? I guess if I knew the 76csx could hold the entire state, I would just load the whole darn thing.
  6. Okay, everything was fine one day, next maps are gone! I had loaded Mapsource a long time ago, when I first got the unit. I am not sure what happened to the maps for my area. We went out of town and I reloaded maps for northern WI. Some roads showed up, some did not - just assumed perhaps the program was not up to date - but it did seem like a lot were missing. Questions: Does anyone know how that could have happened or is happening? How much data can a 76 csx hold anyways - a whole state? Why do I now have a round circle around my black arrow on the map screen that gets bigger and then smaller, etc... My user guide was not much help so I am looking to some people familiar with the unit for some help. Thank you.!
  7. I am curious as to why you would accuse this person of being a sock when all they did was ask a question? Can you verify that or?? I have been geocaching for awhile too, and noticed that one of my TB's was also at GW and was concerned about how it would get moved... I had no idea. A friend who went there just came and told me that as fast as they were dropped, people were picking them up so they did move out quickly.
  8. I use them too and they work great. A diabetic friend of mine gives me more than I can put out to hide. I also attached one similar to the picture above to the diabetes TB I got.
  9. I think the local rodents would love to use your tent for a nice soft bedding in their house! Personally, I don't think it would last. If anything, use props that are unchewable and don't harbor bees or other critters.
  10. Moderators do not delete threads except in rare cases. I closed your topic because it was a duplicate of this one, and was posted in the wrong forum. You are welcome to whine, but please whine accurately. Thank you. Come on now, I was not whining, just trying to reach as many cachers as possible to try to figure this one out. I understand why you felt you had to close the thread, enough said. I just wish that the people who oversee these kinds of problems would help us with a reply to find out what is wrong.

    Pocket Queries

I changed my e-mail address on my profile page, to a hotmail acct. I then went to my own caches and posted logs and also went to one of my friend's with a watchlist and BINGO - got every log. I think this is leaning towards being a Charter server error rather than a problem at gc.com unless it is both - that Charter and gc.com don't communicate well or however those things work. I guess I will keep my hotmail account as primary for now until we find out what is wrong. Thought this might be helpful to others if you want to start an acct at hotmail - it is free.

    Pocket Queries

What I am missing, pocket queries don't come through, I only get one found log entry a day on my caches, even if 10 are found. I no longer receive notifications for new caches, or the weekly cache notification e-mail. I don't get my watchlist logs either on caches on my watchlist - so I am missing a lot of stuff. I hope this is cleared up soon. I think I just may switch my e-mail account away from charter if this is not fixed soon.
  13. This has been going on since way before the holidays, so I doubt that is the reason. I am hoping they are following these threads and can comment on what is going on. I posted the same topic over on another thread and it was deleted - I was hoping to get more replies and see if others are having the same problems.
  14. MODS - can you please leave this thread in this forum since more people come here and will see it. It seems to be developing into a big problem and it needs to be addressed. Thank you. Several cachers on the geocaching.com thread have noticed they are not getting pocket queries, e-mail notifications of finds and also watchlist notifications. I am having have the same problem - thought it was my computer or something. I am also not receiving notifications of find logs or getting logs on my watchlists either. I will get one a day, that is it, even if 10 of my caches are found. I did not know what to do, so I e-mail gc.com and have so far gotten no response. The other people who have been having problems with notifications have various e-mail providers. Several of the people on one thread mentioned they have Charter and those where the people having problems with pocket queries. I did a PQ and changed the e-mail addy to my hotmail account and it went right through! However, when I tried to put it in GSAK, it also said corrupted file. I had to open it and drag it there. I wish we knew what was going on... Anyone else having a problem? Perhaps if enough people reply with their problems here, Jeremy can get back to us about if this is a server issue or ???
  15. Same thing happening to me along with not getting my found logs on my caches. Can't run pocket queries either. I have Charter. This is frustrating and I thought it was a problem with Charter, but it all started about the same time as I noticed not getting notifications. I am starting to think the problem is on the geocaching.com end. How can we bring their attention to this problem and get some answers, they are not answering my e-mails.

Thank gawd I saw this. I have Charter, have the same problem - thought it was my computer or something. I am also not receiving notifications of find logs or getting logs on my watchlists either. 17. I don't like them either, they annoy the crap out of me. But go ahead, to each his own..
  18. She is gonna be rich! Wish I had some of that paper for a cache I am working on to go underwater...
  19. "GEOCACHING - I use multi-billion dollar satellites to find tupperware hidden in the woods. What do you do?" More than once I have uttered, "I hope the batteries don't give out." Only to have the screen go blank 100 feet from the cache and 1/2 mile from the car...
  20. This one is famous around here, I have not done it nor do I plan to. Fun things involved in getting this cache are bushwhacking most of the way, mud, high places, caves with bats and spiders - yech! GCHZKB
  21. Propers, you seem to have something on your head lately, feeling ok?
  22. Sounds cute, but I hope the tree was dead...
  23. The guy said what he was doing in his log. No assumptions. Its there in black and greyish blue. I understand that. I'm talking about what started everything.. He's doing it because he thinks someone stole his coins. I'm just saying that I think there's an awful lot of innocent, naive people that are characterized as thieves. Or maybe I'm just naive and there ARE really a bunch of people running around stealing coins and TB's. I do remember a thread about a guy that came clean after stealing several hundred TB's (but I'd like to think that he's not the norm) How can you have someone "steal" your coins when they are still in your possession???? They are listed in his inventory as in his hands! You can't possibly think that someone could ORDER 3 geocoins, and then not know what they are for? That just does not make sense. And yes, geocoin thieves, are out there. What they do with activated coins is unclear to me unless they sit at night with the lights dimmed uttering, "MY PRECIOUS...."
  24. Well, I sent him a e-mail to remind him that he needs to log that coin and move it on. Hopefully others will do the same so he gets the idea...
