  1. I LOVE to find lapel pins since I collect them anyways. Also keychains and any turtles. I like to leave pairs of dice, small kleenex, hand wipes, AA batteries, and my own signature dove pins. I have tried to find stuff that is guy friendly but would like to hear what the guys would like to find (k keep it clean!) I also would like to know where I can get the one use Repel wipes? I found one the other day and thought that was a great idea, light and easy to carry too.
  2. A quarter will fit just perfect inside one of those contact lens cases. At least the ones I got donated from my eye doctor do!
  3. I have a neighbor who is already doing some geocaching, but did not know how to download waypoints onto her Magellan Meridian Gold. We downloaded Easy GPS, changed the baud rate. Can see the waypoints on the left side of the screen in Easy GPS. Click on send to GPS. Got it to go to the bar where it looks like it sending the waypoints to the GPS. It finishes and then there is nothing on the GPS? Not one waypoint listed. Where are they going and why are they not transferring to the GPS. I would really like to be able to continue to help her, but I am stumped. She does not want to be a premium member at this time so a pocket query is not possible. Thanks for any help/tips you can give us - Before I go completely nuts

  5. Go to E-Bay, put in geocaching and you will see a whole bunch of micro containers and they usually run around 5.99 for the size of that match one. They also have the geocaching logo on them and I have seen them used alot around my area.
  6. Why attach it to a travel bug? Why not just buy a simple lock and key at the store and use that. That way, if the key goes missing, you can just replace the lock and key set. I saw these key and lock sets and Walgreens for 3 bucks for three locks, people use them on luggage etc... I like this idea so much, I may do it myself! :-)
  7. I heard it meant Swap With Another Geocacher = SWAG. I did not see "hootie" on the list which is what we refer to the cache when we find it, as in Mr. MagOO with the hootie!
  8. Where do you get wooden nickels to make your own? I have been leaving dove pins that I bought through an internet Christian store and people love them.
  9. I have used the nano as the first part of a multi and put the log book in the second half. It is much easier to put the coordinates in the nano and laminate them than to try to cram a log book in there.
  10. I knew it. In those pictures from Camp Nasty - there is a husband standing there with his wife and a poking stick in hand! EEK!
  11. That picture looks like it was taken from where I live - Wisconsin! Speaking of which, are there any known reports of carnivorous wife eating caches here? My husband seems to push me forward with his walking stick through briars and barbed wire fences with a devious look to his face. Me, "honey, you go first". Husband - "NO, YOU go first - you have the GPS." poke, poke. I know my life insurance is worth a bundle... uh oh hmmmmm...
