  1. I have a 62st - no squeak; case feels just as robust as my 60csx.
  2. I have a 1gb micro SD. Last night I transferred 965mb of map data to it without a problem (approx 260 segments of GB topo, including autorouting data). Total time taken from selecting the segments in Mapsource to getting them on the card was about 20 minutes (via card reader built into my laptop). Now the card is in my 60csx and the maps are displaying properly.
  3. In the UK we have had to wait a long time for Topo maps from Garmin, but we got them this year and they include Navteq road data enabling autorouting - perhaps the US maps will get Navteq data in a future update. Comes at a price though - Pounds Sterling 150. Then again nothing is cheap over here. The Magellan equivalent provides very similar topo data but, I believe, no autorouting and it's Pounds Sterling 130.
  4. Garmin Technical Support (Europe) have stated to me that a firmware fix is being worked on that should resolve this problem.
  5. I hope the TFT display on the new 60/76 "x" models is the same as on the current models, particularly with regard to being "sunlight-readable". However, Garmin make no mention of the new models having sunlight-readable displays (a feature they make a point of emphasis for the current models) and the information on the Garmin website for the 60csx describes the the display as being "transflective" whereas the display for the 60cs is "transreflective". It is the reflective quality that helps make the display sunlight readable. I wait with interest for someone who has actually seen a new "x" model to confirm whether the displays are sunlight-readable or whether Garmin is, unfortunately, moving to using transflective displays as found on most PDAs and which are not easy to read in full sunlight, even with a backlight on.
