  11. WooHoo !!! What a weekend....... Made the trip on Sat to the GPS Adventure Maze Event in Bridgeport,CT.with a bunch of friends and had the pleasure of meeting Jeremy and Shauna from Groundspeak and trading Jeremy for a Lackey Coin... After spending a few hours at the event talking with Jeremy and Shauna, going through the maze and some coin trading we all hit a few caches around the Discovery Museum before heading back home. It was a hot and muggy day so I had left my windows in the truck open a little and when we returned to leave as I was opening my door I noticed a coin on the drivers seat and thought it may have fallen out of my caching bag earlier. When I picked it up I was shocked to see it was The Wishing Coin # 146 that somebody must have slipped through the small opening in the window that I left open. Thank You to The Wishing Coin person who ever you are for leaving one of your great Mystery coins...
  12. Hey thanks for the info. I just googled it & watched 2 demos on youtube. I think the reason it goes on smooth & easier is the spray. I've got an old package of Bstrong screen protectors that I've been using. It takes me several shots before I end up with results I'm happy with. Looks like I'll be doing some online shopping for all our gadgets. Check out www.bestskinsever.com Look for DIY Custom Skins Have it on mine and applying it is pretty simple.... Look me up tomorrow at the Maze event

  14. The method Geos noted is great if your a Premium Member if not that's where it could get Very messy...
  15. Yes that is the easiest way... no converting the lat & long the other 2 ways mentioned....... If however they don't know those ways or Not a" Premium Member " and use the update home coords as they may have done in the past and use the Geocode address they will never arrive at the correct coord's..... Going to leave the Geochecker on mine for the time being and see how things shake out.......
  16. It's fine to make people work for it but not everybody visits the forums to find the other methods and as W4C mentioned, with gas prices why have them waste there time and gas looking if there not even close....
  17. Think you might be missing the point of the thread........ It's not about searching for caches by zip code or zip code search....... All Ground Zero caches are based on the baseline coord's for a city or town by zip code. Before the recent changes you were able to go to update home coord's and enter the zip code for any city or town to obtain these baseline coord's then you add a distance and bearing offset to these baseline coord's to obtain the coord's to the cache... Simple and easy method..... Now this option is no longer available and the coord's you get now using the Geocode drop down option either by city and state or zip code are not the same making all GZ caches impossible to find. If you do a search by city and state you get one set of coord's and if you do just the zip code for that city you get a different set of coord's... with both sets being wrong...... Did find another way to obtain the correct baseline coord's though. From the home page do a search by zip code and in the URL address it gives you the Lat & Long....... Once I converted these it gave me the exact baseline coord's I used when I set up my ground zero cache no actually I do understand it - do a zipcode search from the home page - then on the search page - hover your mouse over the "search for caches with google maps" link - in the url is the coordinates - I believe those are the same as they always were....... Agree with you on doing it that way also........ But before the recent changes were made one didn't have to worry about converting the Lat & Long all you had to do is put in the zip code after you went to update your home coord's page and you had the coord's.

Once I converted these it gave me the exact baseline coord's I used when I set up my ground zero cache Thank you for explaining that better than I had done. NOW, what do we do about all the GZ caches out there? Do we spread the word on the new method to locate existing caches? In an email from MountainProf, he mentioned possibly adding geochecker to the page TO CONFIRM GZ coordinates (NOT THE CACHE LOCATION). I like that idea since we seem to have about 4 different sets of coordinates now for GZ. lol I have also added Geochecker to mine as well and I know MountainProf has done so from our exchange of emails earlier today........

  20. I disabled my Granby, GZ 01033 cache yesterday after seeing one that I did last month also disabled. When I checked the coord's yesterday for 01033 from what I used when I set the cache up there is now a 562 ft difference...... Also noticed if you were to go to update your home coord's and use the dropdown menu on the next page and search by Geocode address you get 2 different results when you search by city or town and by zip code... But also found and confirmed by another cacher who emailed me if you do a search for caches by zip code and then use the map it feature it gives you the Lat & Long in the URL address and once converted the results give me the correct starting coord's for the final of my GZ cache.....
  21. So I am sitting at the picnic table on Saturday at the GeoJamboree and I look down to my right and there is an envelope with my name on it. I open it up and low and behold there is a wishing coin in there. Someone was slick sitting it next to me when I wasn't looking. Whoever it was, Thank you very much. That is the first mystery coin I have ever received or even seen in person! Congrats on your wishing coin and your first mystery coin Jho......... Was hoping to meet The Wishing coin and make a trade or find one in one of the caches around the park but no luck with either...... Guess will have to keep wishing .........
  22. "E 696.4mi from your home coordinates " Hmmmmm....Don't think I can do that and make my niece's graduation party. Oh well, i will sit next to the pond and wish! Sure ya can if you leave now........
