Thank you, it was a good event and thanks Paul for arranging! -
I was on my way to London to work in the Docklands and I was dreading the drive. No snow in Southampton however it started to appear around Winchester onwards. Managed to get 8 caches in today with some lovely views however my feet are a little cold now! The drive wasn't too bad by the way. Taken at GCYWM1

I received a phone call this morning via the phone number on my cache, it was from some young "dog walker" who had stumbled across my cache. They were calling to say they had found it and that they had signed the log book, in the background I heard someone say are there anymore around here and do we get a reward! Thinking nothing more about it we finished the call and that was it. This afternoon I decided to pop by to check on the cache and deliver a new TB only to find this: The cache was one big lump with the TB sticking out of the top and the log book half burnt was floating in the stream. Although I am a little annoyed about the cache it can be replaced (not in the same location), I am actually more annoyed that the TB has suffered the most, as it has travelled 41k miles without incident. I have emailed the owner to see what he wants to do with it. It is a shame there are people out there that want to spoil our sport and fun!

The bloke out of Star Trek is Wil Wheaton who played Wesley Crusher, he was the reason we started Geocaching.

We did a MO Night cache a couple of years ago, the reason the owner (who has now left the sport) placed it as a members only was that there were at the time a couple of people in the area who didn't like the idea of a Night caches. One of the original night caches in the area that was not MO got sabotaged quite quickly within days of being activated.

I have just ordered one myself, my Mother has Diabetes and was diagnosed with it just after I was born so I have grown up with the disease. I just hope this challenge will raise further awareness of this terrible disease.

What personal information to include with a cache
penguinhunters replied to The Gecko's's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
We have listed a YAC number on our cache which gets diverted to one our mobiles. http://www.yac.com A little info from their site: The YAC Number is a FREE service which gives you 'One Number' for all your incoming phone calls, faxes and voicemail. The service gives you control to forward all incoming calls to a phone of your choice such as office, mobile, home etc as well as receiving both voice messages and faxes. Hope this helps Steve -
We both purchased our GPS units (GPSV & Etrex Venture) from http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk They are really helpful and even sell Geocaching goodies! steve
