  1. Yep, seems to be working now. Strange... Was down for me too. Seems ok now though.
  2. It's through a friend who has a contact at a company that also has the same name as a well known rainforest, they are £299 but with his discount is £260. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002HWIY0W/ref=asc_df_B002HWIY0W6593324?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=pr-electronics-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B002HWIY0W Thanks
  3. So really, getting a good deal on the Oregon 450 and uploading the free maps is probably the best way to go, as using the camera on my iphone ive had no problems with and for the extra cash isn't really worth it as going to have my phone with me anyway. Thanks
  4. I hate shopping, just when you think you've made your ming up someone tempts you with a good deal. Been offered a brand new Oregon 550T for £260, didn't really want to spend anymore than £200 and just don't want to get a device that i'm just going to find to complicated to use! Arghhhh. What to do. Thanks
  5. Nothing is ever straight forward, some thigs you can some things your can't confuses us sometimes!
  6. Thanks for reply, The prices ive found for each are the Dakota 20 at £190 and the Oregon 450 for £220. I didn't want to pay around the £200 mark. Hope that helps. Should of made that a little clearer. Thanks
  7. Hello, Looking at buying my first device this weekend, just can't really decide what to get so many devices. Ive been looking at the Dakota 20 and Oregon 450. Just wondered what the owners thought of these for ease of use etc. Can i load a route onto these devices with multiple caches on, at the minute i'm using my iphone 4 and having to switch off and switch back on to save battery and just have to seach nearby caches as cant load maps onto it. Thanks for any advice in advance.
  8. What a story!!!! Having just sent my first TB out into the wild i hope it goes as well as this one, i suppose without dissapearing for the 3.5years though!
  9. Alberg boots are great, they are very helpful at their shop/factory in Richmond. They offer so much help and support, can also get them re soled there too. Thanks
  10. Hi recieved my TB's today going to be setting my first one off later in the week, if i set my TB a specific mission and the TB completes this can i then change the mission? Thanks
  11. That has made things much easier to understand, just wanted advice as i didn't want to upset anybody by doing something wrong, i love taking pictures of the places we visit etc so will always take pics of TB's i pick up on my journey and post for the owner. Just ordering 5 TB's, now i know what to do. Thanks
  12. That really clears it up for me, thankyou for your help. I was just thinking along the lines of say that i'd planned my day out to do say 10 caches and come accross a TB in the first cache but has instructions to say move south and this didn't fit in with what i was doing i suppose could either just leave it or take it with me for the other caches and log these once back then move south as instructed so that the mileage is correct for the TB and ive kept the owner of the TB happy. Think ive got it, same with the Geocoins i take it. Thanks
  13. Thanks for the answers, just one more quick one just so i know i'm doing this right, when making a drop then pick up again, is that simply just logging it on the cache log that have attended with the TB eg just signing my name and TB? Thanks again
  14. I apologise that these questions may have already been answered but i cant seem to find the answers. I'm going to be ordering a few TB's to set off into the wild, can i start these from a cache ive already visited or do i have to goto a new one? Also i live very close to a couple of caches and is it looked upon bad if i was also to attend these when a TB is dropped and move on? Sorry for all the questions it's just that i don't want to offend the CO or any other hunters, if i was to collect a TB from a cache then visit a few other caches but don't drop how do i log this, do i just wait intill i get home and log where ive been with the TB. Can i attach my TB with its own written log and specific requests so that isn't taken as a swap etc? Thanks in advance,
  15. Ahhh, great. Thankyou for that, big help. We can understand what your all talking about now. Thanks
  16. Hi all, Just thought i'd post that we recently found the site and read about it and decided to do our first hunt which was close by to us, its so exciting hunting down the cache and with people about not knowing what your doing. Started with an easy one and found first time which we were glad of. Already planning the next one, looking at gps devices to buy and off to the shops tomorrow to get some things for swaps, i think were addicted already haha. Could someone help me, i'm struggling to find a "key" or a list of the geocaching talk, eg what all the shorthand talk means. Thankyou in advance Harry, Rob and Kate.
