Yes... but this was my picture, on a website I control. It was a PNG - when I saved it as a .gif, resized it smaller and re-linked to the new version, it worked. Weird.
-
I'm puzzled - when I post images to forum threads, more often then not, I just get a red x in a box, next to the words IPB Image, when I try to view the post. Is there some setting that I have mis-set? Thanks!

I wasn't.... *ominous music plays*

Is HamsterCaching making a comeback?

My clam ate my hamster. -
Wait... that IS my regularly scheduled forum reading... VINNIEEEEE, save meeeeeee.

Though I am just a lowly reviewer and not one of TPTB, I did comment about the over-saturation. That would be post number 8. Post numbers are at the upper right of each post. And to greywolf1242, the point WebChimp is making is that *you* own 170 out of 200 caches in a 14 mile radius from a given point. I've seen the caches on hold. Most are roughly 0.1 miles from other caches on hold or from other caches you own. Maybe you should consider driving 20 miles away next time. Even Vinny does that when he throws caches out the window and aims at road signs. ... that was Sue ...

The hider was apperently not a Loren! Weird, that's what I thought of, too, when I read that part. Can't escape that VT upbringing after all...

I want to complain, or at least whine.

Sionevil... please... First, please do not mention Platinum membership or our benefits on the forums! Next, it was good seeing you again last nite when you kidnapped Pierre, at least as good as it can ever be to encounter my favorite online/geo-stalker (sigh...), but I do have one important quick question for you: Did you happen to also kidnap my darling Barred Plymouth Rock hen Samantha while you were kidnapping Pierre? I can't find her anywhere today! Of course not! I last saw her on a platter, with corn on the cob, and dinner rolls. *hiccup* Tasted like chicken. -

Your check is in the mail. I'd like to complain that my check for starting happy threads is late! Where's my money!!! Feel free to check with your local reviewer. (mtn-man -- reviewer for the great state of Mississippi and not for Nebraska.) *taps foot* Excuses, excuses! As if I didn't know that all the premium membership money goes into a big pool that you pay all your platinum members out of!* I want my share! * Vinny told me this while I was holding his peacock for ransom last night. -

This is why it is not wise to ignore threads... ... didja know that Vinny has a rocker on his porch?
-
Where's my copy? Did you post it in a Geocaching Sons thread someplace? I did! But I can email it to you.
-
... you spend hours, one rainy night, painstakingly rewriting the "America Pie" song to include your various geocaching adventures over the last year and a half. Then you sit back, email it out, and wait for it to get stuck in people's heads.

My work is done here.

I'll leave the lamppost on for you!

I like caching. I've been doing it over roughly two and a half years now. I've fallen into creeks, gotten stuck on the side of a very steep hill, been stung by nettles and bees, been muggled, found myself on the wrong side of a "Danger: Police shooting range" sign, been geo-napped at GPS-point. I've found caches I loved, incredible views, hidden gems of neighborhood parks I never knew existed. I've cached in Vegas in the summer time, and Massaschusetts in the winter. I've solved puzzles, lifted lamp skirts, found a ammo can cache by stepping on it, biked my heart out for 'that one last cache today'. Cached in abandoned mines, at the top of mountains, along neighborhood walking trails, 'cross the ice in winter. I've met cachers I'd give my right arm for, gotten to know cachers I'd give my right arm to meet in person, and developed an infamous reputation around my neck of the woods. I've dragged two sisters, a brother, my father, a niece and a nephew with me to cache at various points. Will I go after micros? Yep! Do I love hard climbs and long walks in the woods? Yep! Like everyone else, I have my personal preferences, but they're personal, I try not to inflict them on everyone else. What else do I like about geocaching? I like being able to point down a random road and tell my sister exactly what lies down it. ("That's the way to the Base lake. And a trailhead for the Bellevue Loop Trail.") I like showing my father a beautiful hidden waterfall in the town he's lived for 12 years, that he never knew existed. I like stepping on the scale - there's about 50 pounds less of me then there was when I first started, and I don't miss it. I like having a reason to take that bike trail to find a nano, or that half-overgrown path into who knows where, knowing I'll have to climb a tree at the end. Okay, I'm done. But this is what caching is for me. I like it.

You're a charter member, you've been around since 02... you have 7 forum posts and you don't know what a muggle is? Something's not adding up here.

Yeah, like, folks, can you all help me here? Like, where ELSE is there to hide geocaches other than on guardrails at the side of busy highways? Huh? In fact, all of our 88 hides are guardrail hides, and I have never heard of any other kind of geocache hide here on the east coast, except for an occasional lamp post cache in a Wal Mart parking lot, but the Difficulty and Terrain rating on that latter type of cache is too high for me to be bothered with them. Besides, I might hafta get out of my car to retrieve the cache. Psst! Vinny! You forgot that nano you put on the back of the stop sign, at the junction of five very busy roads! I distinctly remember how good Sue's aim was that day, when you made her throw it out the window... I was in awe.

Look, I said I was sorry I broke it... What more do you want of meeeeeee?

How do you hide your geocaching addiction
Sioneva replied to Street Doc's topic in General geocaching topics
Um, well, I took my dad camping, and while he was taking a nap in the tent, I snuck off to find a cache or two a quarter mile away. Of course, it took longer than I planned, and of course he was awake when I came back... he knew exactly what I'd been up to, too! He just gave me that special 'dad' look. Made me feel ten years old again, instead of three times that! -
What if your house was a puzzle cache?

What's next? The video game based on the movie based on the newspaper article? Yes. And then there will be a Saturday morning cartoon. Sounds like a movie I'd like to see! -
Beware of Vinny! Just joined MDGPS don't know Vinny! yet but will keep a sharp eye out TWO eyes out would be better. Don't feed the Vinny! after midnight. And don't let it get wet. Hope you enjoy caching in MD - it's such a beautiful state! So GREEN!

Rabid forum debate adversaries CAN be friends!

Heck, I thought you were one of Vinny's socks. No, his socks are very smelly. I am not confirming or denying any rumor that I might be one of his pockets though. -

If I ever meet Vinny in person, the world will end. -
Why, thank you for noticing, Vinny! I do have a sense of humor, and I enjoy keeping you amused! But you're still not getting that puppy you've been praying for. And, on a more serious note... definitely shouldn't have taken the container until you were sure it was geolitter. Being sure, in this case, meaning "having done the research to prove it was or wasn't". If I was the letterbox owner, I'd be ticked off at geocachers right now. Or at least at one of them. Gives us a bad name.
