I am a newbie, have been reading the comments and wanted to add my 2 cents. As I started to use the explorist I (first off have no experience with any other GPS) wondered if anyone else had suggestions or questions. I found myself wondering if there were more customizable data fields or if there was a feature that you could scroll forward and backward in the screens. I wanted a screen that is full of customizable data fields. The unit is a handy one I took the originators advice and updated the firmware which seemed to make the uint operat more smoothly. I am excited to cache on and find them all over. Still looking into the software and want recommendations from y'all. I am also interested in delving into the unit it's self to get the mose out of it. i really love the compas, and few custom fields there are. I also want to know the format of the files that you upload to the unit. my particular uint is a exp600. TTFN
