  1. We have noticed that there has been some serious caching these past few days and our congratulations go to: Jors 100 Hectic 150 Fish Eagle 300 The Huskies 400 Cownchicken 650
  2. Oh dear, wrong place ....... and not bright enough to be able to delete the entries!
  3. Tricky Vicky is a chemical engineer, semi-retired and runs a consultancy, which means he sometimes works and other times sleeps late. Mickey is a nursing sister, definitely retired, but cares for the sick in the community and trains others to care, too. We have three children, the eldest is married and lives in Scotland; our son lives in London and our youngest is at varsity, costing us a fortune. We are fortunate enough to still have some voyager miles, which assists us with caching outside our beautiful country. We are also the proud owners of a roof top tent and frequently enjoy becoming happy campers, while we go caching around our own country. We also bought a Lotto ticket on Saturday, but our ship hasn't docked .... yet!

  6. ZALandyman&Suzieq, congratulations! Well done on reaching your 200th - and very quickly, too! We are so thrilled for you.
  7. It sure is sad ...... we all spend so much on acquiring all we need to geocache (and that doesn't even include the amount we spend on petrol!) and then we are too mean to pay an entrance fee ?? I do think that we need to get our priorities right - geocaching takes you to some really special places and an entrance fee is a small price to pay to enjoy the area and have some fun, too.
  8. What a hard act to follow, CnC! Very well done again and again and again!
  9. News Flash There's a new team at the top of the South African cache rankings! WELL DONE, COWNCHICKEN! Congratulations from us both.
  10. Been watching the numbers going up and up and up tonight - 500 up and still logging! Fantastic, Cownchicken - our congratulations to you both on reaching this special milestone. Your trip has obviously been a wonderful success and we look forward to hearing all about it.
  11. Congrats go to GS&Dogs on their 250th - well done!
  12. A 350, a 150 and a 100, too - all yesterday! Fantastic! Congratulations to Noddy, QFC and Trackinfind - very well done
  13. Congrats to B&F - very well done.
  14. Fantastic, Goofster! Congrats! Looks like you had a super trip.
  15. Just for the record, one of our armchair caches done recently appears to be a dicey one and although we have often visited this wonderful place, we have deleted the log.
  16. Fantastic news, John-Gill! Very well done and have lots of fun finding many more super caches.
  17. We will definitely be in, that's for sure, and know that Goofster and Cownchicken will also want to be part of it too - we were all very keen to see a national event take place and started dreaming about this over breakfast one morning. Just let us know how, when and where, we will be there! If we can assist in any way, just let us know.
  18. Yes, Brick - congratulations! Very well done and have lots of fun finding many more!
  19. In defence of armchair caches, we must say that there are some really fantastic ones, which you would never ever be able to visit, even if you wanted to. The one in Antartica took us at least a week to do, if not longer, and there are a few others that we've been busy trying to solve for months - maybe we are just thick and not as tricky as we thought, but difficult they are! Armchair caches must surely be very welcome alternatives to not being able to get out and about after an operation or illness or even in really horrible weather. Initially we weren't happy with loctionless caches, but DID get a great deal of enjoyment rushing here, there and everywhere trying to find our very own special something. The whole family got involved and we would get phone calls from all and sundry telling us they had found just what we were looking for. So locationless caches also had their place in geocaching and we were quite sad to see them move to Waymarking - something we've never actually got our teeth into. Then there are also those virtual travel bugs ..... ! Can anyone enlighten us on what purpose they serve? Do they also not just get one's trackable numbers up and not much else?! And then, as for Scotland ........ ! Can't wait to go back, there are plenty more there for us to enjoy, too! But we promise to warn you in advance, Discombob, of our travel plans! But, there are also a lot of really super one's in our very own country too, which we look forward to doing as soon as we can - WHETHER IT'S TO GET OUR NUMBERS UP OR NOT!!!!
  20. Very well said, Global Rat - after all, this is only a game and is meant to be enjoyable! If we cheat, we are only cheating ourselves and surely that must make for difficult sleeping at night! THE STATS PAGE IS WONDERFUL (we check it as often as we can make it up the stairs to the study!) and has brought an amazing spirit to the game in South Africa, but there really is no reason to try and cheat to just climb that ladder. Play the game as it is meant to be played and have fun doing so. If it is any consolation, I checked the UK forum site recently while in Scotland, and guess what one of the topics was on their forum - exactly this! So this unfortunately happens else where too, but the reaction was the same!
  21. Yes, what a good weekend - congrats Huskies and Discombob and Amyson! Also a big well done to Fish Eagle on placing his 50th cache - the first person to achieve this in our country, so we are very proud of you! And as for Cownchicken, you can bet they're having a great time - I wonder if they're in your part of the country, Wolkynou?!
  22. Must agree with all the issues been said here .......! We love a good micro, but they seem to be the only caches being placed right now. There are super places for micro's, of course, but surely there must still be some places that are suitable for regular caches. All those travel bugs we love moving around need caches large enough to visit! When we place a cache we think long and hard about it - we try to place them in areas which we think are special and which we feel people will enjoy visiting. On a number of occasions we have changed our minds about leaving a cache, because of large amounts of litter in the area. I know we could clean it up (have done often, too!), but we don't want to expose our geocaching friends to somewhere not quite up to standard.
