  1. Love bicycle caching but here in Minn. it is not quite time yet. Soon, tho! Check out http://www.instructables.com/ for DIY gps mounts. Just do a search.
  2. If you are old enough to remeber journalist, Ernie Pyle check out GCJDYW, "Pyle it on". It is starts in his home in Alb., MN which is now a small library and ends at the downtown library. ______________________________________ Not all who wander are lost. Some are geocachers.
  3. Premium membership is great. But GSAK is terrific! So easy to upload to it. I upload to my Palm to be paperless (as long as batteries hold), upload to Delorme Street Atlas so I have it on the map as I drive and have fun running the Macros for profiles. Not a lot of caches but the profile looks pretty good. Even did it for a caching friend. I do small Pocket Queries in an area where I will be caching since you can do 5 per day. Not all who wander are lost. Some are geocaching.
  4. Thanks for all the great information. O. said they are Nanos. But I work in an animal hospital so I may try to get pet id tubes. Here in Minnesota we have a great surplus store called Axman. I've been told the one in St. Paul is HUGE so that is on the list for Sat. after a cacher breakfast in White Bear Lake. Thanks.
  5. I'm waiting to hear back from him. Tooo anxious, I guess. They were really great. One was on the end of a bold in a telephone pole and another on the end of a railroad spike. Must get some for hiding in MN.
  6. I found several GREAT caches in Albuquerque in VERY mini stainless (I think) steel canisters. Does anyone know where to buy them? They were about the diameter of my little finger and several different lengths, but small. THanks
  7. Being a bit over Medicare age I have found it helpful to cache with a hiking pole. It's good for poking in holes where there might be a critter and it really helps balance. Now to figure out how to mount the GPS on top of it. Though I have found a shoulder pad keeps my hands free when need be.
