Definitely put me in the latter. I know of which you speak. I'm with you. Not a very fun type. I Agree that there are many more micros than there used to be. The Bison macros allow a more devious and easy hide since there are many more places to plant them due to their small size. I myself have seen also an increase of TB related problems as less (as a percentage) traditional caches are placed. What I mean is, I have picked up bugs lately and have held onto them longer than normal because in our area the bulk of new hides are micros. This translates into emails saying "can you move my bug along?" Your area may be diffrent but that seems to be the dynamic around here. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

Actually "Found" is a bit of a stretch isnt it? quote:Originally posted by travisl:Of course, when you drive into a parking lot and everyone already there is signing the log book, it's not as satisfying as finding it yourself. Just curious, how many did you actually find? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

I haven't even got around to e-mailing him yet, though I may. When I release a bug to me it is like releasing a dove. I let it go, wish it a good life and watch it go. Off onto it's own life of adventure. Wondering where it will end up.I think this is the best way to think of bugs. http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/4497_300.jpg Never invest more in a bug than your willing to lose. Thanks Moun10bike for inventing something so rare and unique for us to find. There may be others coins come and go but yours will always stand out. Partly because they were first, but mostly because they are MOUN10Bike coins. You are more than gracious to allow us to keep them. They represent a significant investment and maybe they havent been the best travel bug. For us they symbolize less a cool trinket, and more a guy who gives alot to this sport and others. Thats why we value ours. Ish-n-Isha Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

Some who cache out an area of limited caches come to a near stop from lack of oppertunity. We were worried about our cacheing future earlier this year when we realised we needed to drive about an hour to our nearest cache rich area. Fortunately spring has brought a small flood of new caches to the area and a couple of unplanned trips brought other cacheing chances. Not all of us live in cache rich areas Ish-n-Isha Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

If it isnt kosher to say LC then why isnt everyone put out about the "EVENT CACHE" thing then. You can find "Redmond Regional Library, for example", in any phone book and any taxi driver could get you there without a gps. So No GPS nessisary AND no cache. Double whammy? I half expect to see a upcomming thread on voting whether to change the name of those too. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha! You come up with the caption.....

Guy on left---Mine says here! Guy on right----No mine says its here... Both together-----how are we supposed to find this cache when we cant get any better coords than this???? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha! -
quote:Originally posted by oregone:One of the main problems, as i understand it, is the rabid tenacity in which one who places a lame LC defends their idea when it is rejected. Therein lies the subjectiveness of the "rules". One guys lame is another guys fun. If workload is the problem, get more aprovers. Its not like they cost anything. If space is the problem maby try a diffrent membership rate. BUT! If its some sort of elitest thing where it bothers someone to know that others are out there having fun in a diffrent way that they like, thats just sick. A few people live in areas where LC's show up on their nearest caches page. 90% of us live in areas like me, where if you want to see LC's you have to search for them on a diffrent page already! Out of sight is out of mind, isnt it? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

We use a regular Bison micro. Green so it blend in with the plants. Our twist is that we dont bother with coordinates. We try and throw them out at intersections, that way when we get home we just look up the coords on topo usa and post those....... Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

Would you maintain a tourist's cache if asked?

No info but sounds serious for someone. Our hearts go out to them. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

A diffrent catagory. And the same rule goes for those EVENT caches. An event is not a cache anymore than a locationless is. And the people that hate locationless still log an event and all you have to do is show up. Are we using the same yardstick on all caches or what? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

Can a Cache puzzle be TOO difficult?
Ish-n-Isha replied to The Adams Family Circus's topic in General geocaching topics
Between difficult and tedious. If its worth it in the end and the puzzles and waypoint caches are themselves enjoyable then it will indeed be cool! Some puzzle caches are on the busy work, tedious side. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha! -
You can load them there or for a more streamlined look, on one of your archived cache pages. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

I dont quite understand how people, who have cached less in a year than some of us did in November, became so snooty? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

We use a mapping program. Street Atlas or Topo USA. We convert the easyGPS waypoints into csv files and inport the whole lot into the program. If you dont want to put that amount of effort you could look up the nearest cache and click the nearest caches link on the cache page. As to your problem, I have seen many caches fairly close together. Its possible to change it to a multi and who knows where it ends up? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

Elkmilk passed the 400 finds mark this last weekend. We can appreciate that there are alot of miles asociated with that if you are from central Washington. Not to be left to far behind, his wife Mojavegirl scored her 300th this weekend as well! We wish you both good luck and happiness on the way to 500! Congratulations! It only gets harder from here unless your lucky to live in a high density cache area! Start planning on racking up the miles. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

1.Creativity 2.Placement We enjoy creativity the most. The unique and diffrent caches are the ones you remember and talk about with other cachers for months. Placement is usually location. One example might be, if its a simple box at the base of a tree, it had better be some place with a view or at least a theme cache. Something besides a box put any old where. Ive found plenty of difficult caches lately, micros mostly. For some people thats there thing. They do the NY Times crossword puzzle every sunday. For us, there is a fine line between difficult and tedious. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

Anyone wanna bet on how long you can still log an event cache if you cant find the macro they have hidden in a drilled out pinecone 30' up in a tree? Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

We seem to find them AFTER someone has hid them really good. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

We got the vista first and the Garmin V second. The V has a superior antenna and also, when the canopy is really thick, the V has the ability to add a amplified antenna good for about a 28db gain. The vista has a smaller antenna and no allowance for adding an external antenna. We bought the vista for backpacking first, so we were looking for features like altimiter, compass ect. I feel the 76S is the best cache hunting GPS made once you are on site. It has all the power and antenna options of the V, plus more memory and all the options of the vista, ie, compass, altimiter ect. But it always gets back to the autorouting of the V and the fact that not many can afford more than 1 GPSr. As a all around GPSr, the V is it. Cachin's a bit sweeter when you've got an Isha!

If the count was itemized there would be no need for a seperate site for LCs, VCs, or Benchmarks. Can anyone think of another explaination of the angst at "headquarters" over VCs and LCs other than find counts? If totals dont matter to people then why do they care who enjoys what? I just dont see it I guess. It seems at odds with the concept of "give the customer what they want". People dont have to do more than a few LCs or VCs to see if they like them or not.
