  1. Thanks! I have a Garmin as well and I did drag it with me from India. I'm going to give it another go on Boxing Day. If you're in the Bathurst area, are there any caches that you can recommend that are easily enough to find in the winter? I'd like to drop some coins. Thanks again, Danie
  2. I'm home for Christmas and trying to cross a few easy caches off my list. I spend most of yesterday trying to lock on to satellites. I managed one on St. Peter Ave. Two in East Bathurst. And that's it. I couldn't geocache yesterday and place a hide. There are caches and cachers (and satellites) in Bathurst...so what's the deal? Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution? Kind regards and Merry Christmas, Danie in her hometown
  3. Are there geocachers in India? Tamil Nadu? Chennai? Give a shout out...maybe we can organize an event!
  4. Thanks for the info. I've looked at some of these and deemed them too far as we hadn't planned to rent a car while we're there. I do plan to attend WWFM while I'm there though! Thanks again, Danie
  5. I'm going to be traveling to Dubai in the next couple of days. I've picked what I think is a good park and grab to drop off a coin. Most of the caches that I've looked at seem to require a 4x4 or are micro-caches. I'm looking for a good Park and Grab that is big enough to drop off a travel bug (hooked into a little stuffie). Can anyone recommend such a cache that isn't too far from the Kempinski Hotel? Kind regards, Danie Team Maple Leaf in India
  6. Mapsource came with my Garmin maps60...I haven't played with it much because it didn't feel overly user-friendly. Could I use that for creating a route? Geocaching can be complicated enough....I'd like this part to be somewhat easy Thanks, Danielle
  7. For some reason, I can't seem to use the forum search tool so I'm not sure if this topic has been covered recently. If you're planning on traveling and would like to geocache along the way or in another country, how do you serch for and download those waypoints? When I'm searching for geocaches in my area, I can easily search for the distance surrounding a zipcode. I don't know the zipcodes between here and wherever. Is there an user-friendly way to do this? Thanks, Danielle
  8. I scooted to Home Depot and picked up some Gorilla Glue. It's taking a very long time to dry though and the rocks are sliding around a bit. I looked for Gorilla tape while I was there but they haven't started carrying yet. I figured I'd save myself a trip out there again. Thanks for all the info! Danie
  9. Is that something that you've made or purchased? I like it. It wouldn't work for the area I have in mind for my first cache placement but I would definitely use it in the future. Danie
  10. I'm having a really good laugh at my own expense. It really didn't occur to me to glue the rocks to the bottom....duh! Now you all get to have a laugh at my expense too. Thanks for the advice! Danie
  11. When it comes to Goop.....at what temp will it not do well? This is for the lid of a film container, so flexibility is an issue. I just don't want to have to purchase 10 types of glue to find out none of them work. Thanks, Danie
  12. There are many out there who camouflage containers so I'd like to benefit from your knowledge. What's the best types of glue medium for sticking rocks to a plastic container? I'm looking forward to your response, thanks for the help! Danielle
