We've been doing it for a couple months after a year or two hiatus. My 5 and 7 year old are in love with geocaching. My 11 year old is kinda "meh" unless we're going after larger caches with trading opportunities. I love the premium feature on the website for this option, as I can filter out micros when looking for caches to do with them. I tend to do the micros on my own, but not always. My 5 year old loves looking for the little ones, too.

My family and I were out geocaching in the mountains and while we were looking for one along a road we met another geocaching family (The RossiPosse) They gave us 3 travel bugs and 1 geocoin to move along and as we didn't actually find them in caches I'm wanting to make sure they are logged properly. Two of the travel bugs we put in a cache that we had already found that same day and the coin and other travel bug I'm taking down to where we live to put them in local caches. I'm wondering what the proper procedure is for 'discovering' when we didn't really discover them in a cache and 'grabbing', etc... You can see by my profile I'm a newb still, I just want to make sure everything goes along well. Thanks! Also forgot to add that when I looked up the travel bugs, one wasn't listed in the system.

So I've been lurking on and off for a few months now. I've only done two caches so far with my family while we were camping and have been trying to get the hang of my gps unit. Also been working up the guts to go for a city cache. The idea of being spotted somehow just weirds me out! LOL Anyway, I lurk mainly to read the funny, interesting, educational threads. Also trying to learn proper geocaching ettiquette. We're going camping again in a month and plan to try for three in the area (central Idaho). The kids so far are loving the 'treasure hunting'! As soon as I feel I have something worthwhile to contribute, I'll hop on the boards one of these days.

Okay, I'm new. We caught a couple of caches while out camping and signed the logs with our last name. Will our online log get deleted because my handle doesn't match? You can see my last name if you visit my profile, but will the cache hider do that to verify? Should I sign physical logs with my online handle? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question! Sarita
