  1. Ship cabin will also be double. I was caught out on a previous cruise Genoa/Miami. I had paid the single supplement but ended up in a single cabin into which a double bed had been squeezed.
  2. Last week I was really tempted to add Bermuda. A cruise tour special. Return flights to New York from Australia. Two nights in New York then an eight day cruise to Bahamas (Nassau) via Miami (extended stay of up to eight days available in NY). All for AUD2999 or USD2000. All that way for the same price as a New Zealand cruise and I've been there many times already. I can tolerate long haul flights, I like cruising and I've never been to NY. Only problem is, I have no one to go with. Single supplement is a deal killer.
  3. Found a solitary Morris B Series engine block by a canal a long way from nowhere. It had a small cache hidden in it. I wondered how the CO found it as it was well off the tow path.
  4. Today I found my first BC, Canada.
  5. I also DNF'd Jeff's example. Haven't been back.
  6. Fake logs such as with this one. Twenty four finds logged but only one looks genuine. Two irks here. One, the fake logging. Two, the non maintenance of logs by the CO. Penguin's Island Virtual Cache GC7B6QJ
  7. My UK find tally, so far, is only 184 but a good number of those had wet, soggy, logs. It's hard keeping things dry in such a climate. The worst were film pots - one could almost guarantee the log would be damp if not wet.
  8. I've been seeing a few like that on my caches. Having a few series I often see suspicious gaps between the Found Its.
  9. I'm au fait with PQs however, not so with ASCII characters. Back in the day I was happy to do a little programming in Atari Basic but when it comes to characters I'm happy in my ignorance. IIRC there are one or two local mystery caches which require solving lines of emojis which went on my ignore list. At least there weren't any in the titles.
  10. Limitations could include, say, a good, favorited, cache goes missing and someone dumps a pill bottle throwdown. Hmm. Next finder is left wondering how the high % FP was achieved and thinks what a time waster that cache was.
  11. From what I read in the logs, along with photos, there are quite a few that are young family groups rather than solo players.
  12. This anecdotal, however this year I am seeing quite a bit of geocaching activity with my hides, of about eighty caches, mostly Premium Member newbies (understandable as most of my hides are PM). It's also pleasing that many write readable and informative logs - rarely see any emojis. Lee737, if he sees this this, may be able to add if he is seeing anything similar as he and his 737 fleet are not far from me.
  13. I found those same six caches in Nov 2019. I spent a wonderful day wandering around that lovely town instead of heading off to Rome like most of the others on my cruise. IIRC I think I managed nine that day.
  14. Newbies and flaws in apps? I have been doing a lot of maintenance on my caches lately and it's only because I read all logs to determine if there is a problem. Even then some problems go unnoted. Sometimes I may get a WN - if I'm lucky.
  15. The CO in example cache ceased activity suddenly Aug 2020. Possible COVID victim?
  16. That's what I did before a recent cruise stop at Komodo Island. Pink Beach Earthcache GC76381 was at the spot where we were snorkeling. I left the printout on the ship, totally forgetting about the EC. Oldtimers irks me.
  17. How often do they turn up here? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284841278905?hash=item4251dcfdb9%3Ag%3AoeEAAOSwQR9imkYo&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4BEMCjdO%2BHpXkEA9hAgIz6UqzAdhmwOIAsLqsW8JrnG2hoQpkQ9kW2z250%2Boh8cragb5rlnzoZGnO1xmiToGYvEejQ9zzeKBPg92yinp5RJwRgSKrav4JCufTRfiKMoOe51Z1lVy4IKaehRBovLRTXyxrO5m%2B%2B1brGOcUMI1p67JsehqPAD5imrDhd1pO6AxQzQXiaD6vWtKp4dEhbbgTiZApAHXStSDwI%2BNKd7DGvQFh%2BFwJWu1%2BmSt6aKXann3b4elfwZF2Pa5XaaEZV%2FEhWcfkoigOyhT4dMf3b8srFT5|tkp%3ABk9SR7zA5J32YQ&LH_ItemCondition=4
  18. I had a tour of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbijan booked for April 2020. A week before departure the Covid walls went up - bummer. I'm a bit edgy about trying again due to conflict between and within those countries. I received a credit from the TA and ended up using that for Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
  19. I've been PM from the start. I've no idea what it is like not to be PM. Like lee737 it's worth it, giving support to this great pasttime. Anyone checked lately how much it costs for kids to register in their local soccer club?
  20. Lovely place. Bodrum castle is worth a visit. There was a cache in there.
  21. I was looking for an ammo can cache in Alaska which had DNFs. I found a likely spot matching hint. Four or five metres away I spotted a birdhouse. Someone had left a signed bit of paper in it. It was a real birdhouse.
