  1. Attention Geocachers... THERE'S NOT MUCH TIME. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH ALL YOUR GEOCACHING FRIENDS As many of you may or may not know, this will be the 6th year that Clay4 and I have hosted a successful annual Geocaching Poker Run. With much sadness, and a little bit of relief, this year will be our last... at least for now. Six consecutive years has been a lot of work, time and especially money. Here's a link to see how our poker run works... http://www.etgeocaching.com/pb/wp_50de2672/wp_50de2672.html Anyway, each year we come up with caches that offer something unique or different. We always hope to wow the finders in some way. Many caches from our poker run quickly become lasting favorites in the Las Vegas valley. So this year we had a thought. Since it's our final poker run, why don't we turn the hides over to the cachers? So here's what we ask. If you or someone you know has an amazing cache to hide, or a knack for creating a great hide that you could produce before March 1st, we would like to use that cache as one of our poker run hides. It must be a container that will offer the finder that wow factor, whether it's a complicated gadget cache or a fun puzzle, we'll consider them all. We would need to see the cache or hear your proposal for it and how it is intended to be hidden to approve it for the poker run, and have it shipped in time to have it in our hands by March 1st so we'll have time to find the right spot to place it before the poker run on March 26th. The cache page would include the creators name in the title and full credit given to them in the description as well. We want the spotlight to shine on you, the cache maker, and your amazing creativity. If you'd like a chance to be one of our Poker Run Spotlight Cachers, please email your cache proposals to us at ethighway1000@gmail.com and SPOTLIGHT CACHE AND YOUR CACHING NAME IN THE SUBJECT LINE as soon as possible for us to review them. Include as much information and photos as possible. We will take into consideration among other things, the Favorite factor (will it wow the finders), the feasibility of placement in the Las Vegas Valley (will it be easily spotted and muggled), and the longevity (is it durable and will it last a while for others to continue finding after the poker run). So if you've got that creative streak and talent for some great hides, send us your idea ASAP. Or if you know someone else who would be interested, please forward this to them. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS OR EXPRESS CONCERNS. Here's a link to this year's poker run event... https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC65T2B_annual-las-vegas-geo-poker-run-2016
  2. Hello my friends. My wife and I will be touring through Europe for most of September and will be attending Geocoinfest Europe. We will be in Munich for the day on September 25 to enjoy a little bit of Oktoberfest. While in Munich, I would really like to go to F***ing Austria to find this cache, 1. F***ing Cache We tried to rent a car but they are reserved only for 3 day rental. Would anyone be willing, or know of another cacher willing to give us a ride to the cache and back to Munich? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  3. Only one week away! Here's something new that popped up on the E.T. Highway!
  4. This sounds familiar. I turned 40 last year and my wife pulled off a scavenger event for me. Here's the GC page. Mission Impossible: Operation 40th Birthday!
  5. We've adopted the stretch of highway in front of the infamous town of Rachel,NV. Home to the Little A'Le'Inn and heart of the Extraterrestrial Highway Mega-Trail. 1500 caches strong and 500 more to be added prior to this CITO. Click here for the CITO page! Prior to the cleanup will be a WWFM event, and a cool down event will follow the CITO. There is also a Meet & Greet event the evening before in the town of Alamo, NV For more info and links click www.ETgeocaching.com. Hope to see you all there!
  6. It's unfortunate that Garmin has discontinued the 60csx. It has been very good to me for the past 4 years. It's the unit we used to hide all 1500 of the new ET Highway caches as well as the 1000+ old ET Highway caches before that. We've had nothing but compliments on how accurate all the coordinates are.
  7. Mail order sales are now open for the New E.T. Highway Geocoins at www.ETgeocaching.com.
  8. I'm sure my buddy, Dale, won't mind me giving him up. He's the Smart Car CITO Star! --> D Force's Profile
  9. We are proud to announce Magellan GPS as our newest sponsor for the Alien Search Party event. Magellan is donating 2 GPS Units for our prize drawing, a 610 and a GC. They are also sending their Geocaching expert and Outdoor Trainer, Jeff Caulfield, to take part in the festivities. Jeff will have brochures and giveaways to hand out. Magellan is a highly respected retailer who plays a large role in the Geocaching community and is an Official CITO sponsor as well. We are very proud to have them on board.
  10. See Alien Search Party - The 2nd Invasion! and Our new website
  11. The coins are in! 2" diameter, trackable with unique icon and the aliens glow in the dark.
  12. I just got on G+ today but then had to run off to work. Looks easy to use and navigate, but I haven't had a chance to do much yet.
  13. As many of you may already know, the ET Highway power trail is coming back. There is also a release event to help kick it off, Alien Search Party - The 2nd Invasion! GC2WK80. But do you also know there will be a CITO Event as well? On August 26th the Alien Search & CITO will allow cachers to give a little something back for the opportunity to use this amazing area as their playing field. Cachers who are coming out to the Extra Terrestrial Highway for the release of the new, bigger and better trail will be able to CITO their way down the highway picking up trash as they are racking up finds. Then they can drop off what they've collected along the way at the Little A'Le'Inn right before the Alien Search Party event begins. All who take the time to do some CITO work will earn an extra entry in the Search Party drawing which will feature some great prizes. We hope to see a lot of people taking the time to help clean up!
  14. Looks like the elusive Coin Dropping Fairy will be paying a visit to this event. Now we'll have to keep an eye out for strange lights in the sky as well as a fairy bearing some sought after geocoins. I'd love for one of those to drop into my pocket. Also as a reminder... Event shirts and the new ET Highway geocoins are now at www.ETgeocaching.com
  15. The New E.T. Highway Geocoin is now available for Pre-Sale for Attendees of the Alien Search Party event (GC2WK80). Mail orders and shipping will be available after the event has passed. This coin is 2" in diameter and alien on both sides glows in the dark. It is trackable with its own unique icon. Regular coin is Polished Nickel. There are also 100 Limited Edition coins in Polished Gold, but it looks like those will be gone very soon as 45 sold in the first day of pre-sales. Visit ETgeocaching.com for more info.
  16. Scubasonic is also looking to team up. See his post in the Discussion Forum at ETgeocaching.com
  17. Anyone on facebook can also use this link to watch this event. Alien Search Party - The 2nd Invasion!
  18. GET AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER, JORANDA!!! Hi all, just to help put hings in perspective... by the time one pulls off the roadway, that 50' distance is greatly reduced. The problem we are trying to overcome were those cachers who were stopping on the roadway so their passengers could jump out and grab the ones that used to be close by. Hopefully 50' off the road is enough encouragement to get vehicles off the road completely and not endanger their lives and those of their passengers. Highway Patrol knows about the caches and are fine with them but vehicles whose tires aren't all to the right side of the white lines will be cited. Glad to see so much excitement over the return. The Alien Search Party - The 2nd Invasion! event looks like it will be a huge success and there will be some fun night caching to follow... The number of Attendees after only one week, along with the number of watchers and page view counts, is making us wonder about the possibility of a Mega.
  19. You mean you haven't heard?... Alien Search Party - The 2nd Invasion!
  20. I am one of the CO's. Just trying to see who already owns one.
  21. Who has one of the 1000 E.T. Highway geocoins that were made?
  22. Attention forum dwellers. There's rumor of increased activity on the ET Highway... one may want to keep an eye on the Geocaching map for that area in the coming months. Who knows what these alien life forms are capable of. That is all.
  23. Hmm, depending on when you are there, I think you may be pleasantly surprised at what is going to soon be popping up.
  24. Clay4 has a handful of hides using bar codes, QR codes and the like. One of the QR codes even links you to a video of him directing you to where the actual cache is.
