    Website Down?

I guess I was right, seems to be working now Good job unknown lackey(s)! Thanks for fixing the problem in the middle of the night!

    Website Down?

They could have both a technician, and a social media expert on duty 24/7. But that would be a waste of time and money...

    Website Down?

And you're guessing that every single lackey have access to the company Facebook and Twitter accounts. What if the technician, that have to get up in the middle of the night to fix this, doesn't have access to any of those? Maybe the marketing department handles all social media? This isn't the first time there's been issues in the middle of the night Seattle time (all websites have issues. Even 99.9% uptime allows 8 hours and 45 minutes downtime per year). But they've always fixed the issues. So even though we're guessing, it's not hard to guess that they are working on the issue.

    Website Down?

I can imagine that they have a 24/7 monitoring system AND a technician standby? Probably. But his or her priority is to get the system running smoothly again, not answer the angry mob on the forums. As it should be.

    Website Down?

The time is 2:59 AM in Seattle now, probably why they're not communicating that much right now.
  6. I did not get the new newsletter, and I didn't get the second survey either. Something wrong with my account, or are you still delaying the sending?
  7. I guess the problems with Amazon S3 is what's causing trouble for you as well. See more here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=343232
  8. Image upload fails, both from GSAK (GSAK doesn't get any response from the API) and from geocaching.com ("Something went wrong with the image upload, please try again later.").
  9. Everything works fine now, thanks
  10. Opened a ticket? How do you do that?
  11. I am currently unable to log in to geocaching.com, I'm just thrown back to the login page. Judging by comments on a Norwegian Facebook group, a lot of people is having this problem now. I guess the hamsters are starting to get hungry, maybe someone will be nice and give them some food?
  12. Great! Any hope of also getting the Owner Maintenance log type in before you shut down the old app? That's about the only thing I use the app for, so I really hope you can add that log type as well
  13. Still not working here, same 500 error when trying to log a find. But thanks to the lackeys for working on this on a Sunday
  14. It's happened quite a lot lately, I read this and think "What about me? I'm one of the few..." I remember when Google changed the limits for their maps, and Groundspeak suddenly was in the 1% that got affected. I feel like I'm a part of the 1% that always get affected when something is changed now. I fear that the old icons will be completely removed by this time next year, hopefully I'll get used to the new icons by then. Luckily my GPSr shows me the good old ones If possible, could you please shrink the size of the icons on the map when zoomed in? They feel a lot bigger than the old icons...
  15. How do you know they only store the date? They only display the date on the site, yes. But since the app now says "7 hours ago" on a newly published log, I guess they store the time as well. Each log is also assigned a log ID (and a GL-code), I guess that is used to sort logs made on the same date.
  16. To the lackeys working late today: You've made a lot of people happy now! Thanks a lot!
  17. As far as I know they do have IT techs available 24/7. Let's hope they can fix it!
  18. This is normal, the forum is a separate system
  19. Same problem in Norway. After logging in I get 500 error, and then I'm thrown out again.
  20. And now it's broken again Edit: Login seems to work on and off. But when I am able to log in, I get a 404 when trying to access a cache page.
  21. And seconds after posting this, everything works again
  22. I was looking at caches on the map, and was suddenly thrown out to the login view. After trying to log in, I just get a 500 error. API doesn't seem to work either.
  23. I probably would have. This is another change that is affecting log history, and that would be just as bad if it was the other way around. Instead of making it more unified, and easier for beginners, this just adds to the already long lists of things needing explanation. "What is that blue ribbon people talk about? Why did they award that instead of the green heart?"
  24. I just hope they don't change it on the website. Almost all 3rd party sites, tools and devices use micro, small, regular, large. I don't understand why the app can't be made to match the website...
  25. If this change was made to unify mobile and website icons, why is the icon in the app green? This is not a big issue, no. But I think the correct way to unify the icon, is to use the ribbon in the app. When people leave favorite points, they often say that they give the cache a "blue ribbon", or "blå sløyfe" as we say in Norway. I see that more often than I see people saying the give out favorite points. I don't expect them to go back and change all their logs to say "I gave this cache a blue heart" (or "I gave this cache a green heart" if they used the app). I think this only leads to more inconsistency.
