  1. If you look at what Groundspeak is currently offering, they are not too far off of your suggestion here. While they may not be "Clay-dyed", they do have somewhat of an earthy flavor using colors like navy, ash, brown, texas orange, black, and olive. My point was to offer non earthy colors for the geocachers who prefer a more vibrant color choice.
  2. This would be something we would like as well...a waterproof windbreaker. Maybe one that folded up into a pouch allowing it to fit in your backpack.
  3. I have had that same thought. I just wanted to see how many other people agreed that there was a void here. My intent is to only help Groundspeak drive incremental business. They do such a great job with everything else!
  4. I have perused this site and they do have the largest selection, bar none. I just found the majority of their designs to be area specific or with some kind of a home made design. I guess I was looking for actual geocaching goods with the one logo everyone knows. Funny......I see one can buy a bib, boxer shorts, teddy bear, clock, throw pillow, coaster, infant creeper, and a mug, but no apparel like a T-shirt, sweatshirt or a cap. It just seems strange.
  5. We certainly do not top the geocaching world rankings list...heck we don't even have 200 finds yet. My family and I do however really enjoy geocaching. Recently I went to find some geo apparel to purchase. I was surprised as to my given choices. Maybe I'm missing something!?! I really started to dig in and came up empty. I was able to find a number of Groundspeak approved websites that showed some choices that were ~ unfortunately discontinued. I have put together a visual for you to see to demonstrate my point. I do not expect everyone to agree with me here, I just wanted to express my opinion. See the link below for this visual description of the above post. http://home.nc.rr.com/henzlik/Geogear.htm
  6. Works perfectly with my Cingular 8125 running Windows Mobile 5.0 Thanks Jeremy for continually pushing forward to keep geocaching on the edge of tech
  7. If I click on the TB's link, I see that it says TBNKHC - "Lucky Ducky" was recently spotted in Hulbert Creek, so I know they dropped him off. The issue is I still see the little guy when I go to - My Travel Bug Logs (All). Maybe this is not a big deal? Even if I wanted to try your method of rectifying this, I'm not sure how I would do this. Again, I cannot seem to "Drop Off" the TB because it does not show in my inventory. Unless there is another way to "Drop Off" that I'm not aware of? Have a look at the link below to see if possibly we are ok with the way things are. Maybe this will all work out once someone finds & logs Lucky Ducky. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=3b488ad9-ff4b-4035-b404-f043183163b4 Thanks! It looks like it's okay. Your dop-off log for the bug into the Landsberg TB Hotel didn't work, so the next finders just "grabbed" it from you when they found it there. (They could have then logged a drop & retrieve into and out of the hotel if they wanted to preserve the mileage and the travel-history, but it's not really critical.) When they dropped the bug into the next cache, they logged the drop, so the bug is now correctly listed as being in its new cache. As far as your "My Travel Bug Logs" page goes: it lists all of the TB logs you've made (pickups, drops, grabs, notes, etc.) forever; they don't get erased once the bug is out of your inventory. It's a good way to keep track of your bug-handling history. Very cool! Thanks for all the help here.

  9. Here's the scoop.... Found & logged a TB. Took the little guy across country and placed him in a ammo can TB hotel. Arrived home - went to log our activity only to find this TB was omitted from our inventory box below the "Comments" area. A day later I was contacted by a local geocacher wanting to know why I did not drop this TB off via the website. I then researched this forum and found this to be an issue with a fair amount of people. I explained this TB glitch to them. They seemed understanding to this fact. They suggested they had dropped the little guy off somewhere else and would contact the owner. This was a couple weeks ago. I still see this TB in my TB Details Page. What would be my next step here? I just want to do the right thing. The TB owner probably is wondering what's going on!?! * Can Groundspeak make a manual adjustment? * Can the owner control or impact any change here? Any help would be appreciated.
  10. This problem is occurring with me now as well. I have a bug that does not show in my inventory when I'm trying to drop it off. It does however show up when I go through “My Account Details”/”Travel Bugs”. This is a pain in the %*@. We've placed a TB and have traveled 1000 miles home. Now we cannot properly log the drop off. What will happen when the next cacher picks up the bug and tries to log it as a found? Is this issue being addressed? I’m not sure I want to try re-logging this bug a dozen times to get it to catch…..shouldn’t have to. A concerned but happy member.
  11. Try here - http://www.medids.com/PILL_PAL.html
  12. I found this one while cruising the web and thought I’d share it with all. This unit seems to be discussed enough here to warranty this. Oh....one thing, the .avi file towards the end would not play - got the following Windows Media Player v.10 error under XP SP2, when I tried: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer. I would love to have seen this. Like to know if anyone can view this file. ~ Enjoy http://patrick-roeder.de/reviews/garmin_gpsmap_60CSx.htm
  13. FYI to all forum users - I had a number of individuals contact me within literally hours of my post. Great alternative to eBay! **THIS UNIT IS SOLD**

  15. I'm not from the Great Plains, but would guess this to possibly mean "Getting Really Frustrated". I've felt this before but never was inclined to create my own acronym.
  16. I've had the very same experience. I use Photoshop to accommodate the owners request. He was very cool about the whole thing. I think this was our 8th find. See below photo.
  17. If you log "Needs Maintenance" as apposed to "Found It", does this find count? I logged it this way because the found cache was almost destroyed and I felt my duty to report this to the owner. Should I have logged this find differently? I recently purchased GSAK and am still currently learning all the functionality of this prog. Man there's allot! I discovered a discrepancy between "My Logs" on the Geocaching website and GSAK, while carefully comparing the two. It turned out to be a find I logged as "Needs Maintenance" that we're not getting credit for. See the below message I get when trying to edit the log of this cache from "My Account Details". Editing a Log Entry There was an action associated with this log. The log type cannot be changed. In reference to: Three Diamonds Micro (Traditional Cache) Type of log: Needs Maintenance Date Logged: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 Comments: This cache is almost destroyed. Very wet. Thanks for the hide! SL Thanks in advance for anyone’s help / clarification here.
  18. What if when you selected "Found It" from the drop-down menu, it pulled / attached / displayed the next numeric value so you could easily go back to see what was your 100th find. Better yet.....what if there was a drop-down menu that allowed you to sort your founds a couple different ways. Example would be 1 - By owner 2 - Cache type and some more I'm sure.
  19. I downloaded and ran this beta update. Went out today with the family, and did not have this problem. I also noticed that it locked onto the satellites much quicker than before. Hopefully this will be the answer. I thank you for the tip!
  20. Would this be something that those of you who own this model have experienced? I started by scouring my owner’s manual, then to Garmin's website - FAQ's. Nothing I could find referencing this behavior / screen message. This was a bit frustrating . I tried to Google this......nothing . Recently I discovered this forum and have found it very useful, and am hoping I can get to the bottom of this. Here is an example of what I mean - It seems that most times our GPSr works like it should. If we take a dozen caches with us to hunt, 10 work as they should, at least in my mind. The other 2 seem whacked. The example will be called the “Crazy Cache”. We’ll be caching along with 3 or 4 finds behind us when all of a sudden it happens - I’ll go Find / Waypoints / Crazy / Go To, and I'll get the dreaded Recalculating……Recalculating……Recalculating message. It does not seem to matter whether it’s cloudy or not. Funny….the next cache will work fine. I’m starting to wonder if it’s me or my GPSr? Anyone’s thoughts, suggestions would be most welcomed at this point.
  21. Thank you to doublestuff for the Nebraska images! I also found Wyoming on another post. Here is why I was asking. I will try to keep this as up to date as possible. If someone sees something out of sorts, please let me know. http://home.nc.rr.com/henzlik/US_State_Coins.htm
  22. Can someone post the front & back images for this, Wyoming coin please?
  23. I ended up finding Nebraska. Thanks for the quick response here.
  24. Does anyone know if the following states have a geocoin? I have been collecting images of each states coin, and cannot find these states. I would be looking for both front & back images. I have wore out eBay & Google looking. I've come to believe they may not have a coin yet. * Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia, Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. Thanks in advance for anyone's help here. Team Henzlik
